    I have a dilemma...

I want to purchase a the Behringer Ultragain 8000 ADA for tracking all my hardware into my DAW...the only thing is...it only has ADAT out....and my AI (Tascam US-1800) only has SPDIF. I also need 5-pin MIDI OUT so I can control all of my samplers and synths with my controller (which only has USB)..I'm beginning to think there is no consumer grade AI with these features.

Or even a small footprint mixer with SPDIF out?

I currently run all my hardware into my Behringer mixer into the line-ins on my AI..

Is there any benefit to doing it this way? or is it a step that would only be giving me one less gain stage on the way in?

With the Behringer DAC you could record every input on its own track, BUT you'll need an interface with ADAT in (not just "optical", since it could be S/PDIF only too).

There are a few of them:Br,

    Thanks my dude!!!

The FCA610 will do it to and is a better option (pricewise)!

may go with the Focusrite or TC though being the Behringer is so new and I'm a little leery about the drivers.

No, the FCA610 ist S/PDIF only. It doesn't support ADAT.
