Take it to a proper repair person.
I doubt you'll be into servicing that yourself.
Mostly just cleaning the key contacts though.

No, it’s not. But I like to know more than the normal “user” . I think how to hack firmware to add a vocoder option if physical connections allow this. Hmm...

Can I switch off the springy action for modulation joystick? And how to check the firmware version?

 

first of all there is a vocoder option without hack . secondly no you can't stop the springy joystick. the firmware you can see in the global page somewhere in the end ,

 

Could you give me a clue how find a vocoder? The manual and the internet say there is no a vocoder although it has mic in.

 

Oh wow, the X-Station. When I was moving countries I spent a whole lot of time in a bare room, with a laptop and the x-station to keep me company.

It's truly an all-in-one. And as such I'd recommend it to someone who's just starting out. Loved mine but eventually gave it to a friend. No complaints, though this thing has sent people down the road of GAS.

An aside, the synth section is available as a VST, the V-Station. Would recommend that as well.

 

maybe it's just the video but it seems somewhat abrasive sounding. the Bass Station 2 would be a great starter synth also.

 

I can’t get the transport keys to work in Live 20 and to edit templates in the editor in Windows 10. I have installed the driver.

 

yea the vocoder i am wrong i used the mic in and the via plugin . about the transport should be Mackie protocol. i still have my 61 version. but its taking dust now. also you can midi learn in ableton to use the controls. the templates can be set up to use NRPN and not only CC

 

@nobodyspecial The springy action can be removed for Modulation only, by switching the plastic switch at the bottom of the synth
But still no luck with transport buttons. It looks like they transmit messages but nothing happens in Live, MIDI learn doesn't react but the orange indicator shows incoming messages.

 

you must be sure that in the midisetting of ableton live "remote is on next to xstation midi input and output"

 

If it has keys like the SL25 id say its great,
Otherwise its a digital VA synth, and using V-Station is better

 

MIDI connection and transport buttons seem to work well now with FL Studio ASIO and ASIO4All. I can't use the Novation ASIO driver because Live doesn't receive any MIDI messages.

 

OK. I have a problem with Novation ASIO driver. It doesn't work in Win 10 1909. It is just deaf. I have to use FL Studio ASIO. Any workaround like M-Audio drivers have (changing some lines of text). Thanks

 

Interesting you mention that.
I did this with some old M-Audio driver for mac that wasn't plug n play, and got it working on a newer unsupported OS.

 

How can I remove latency in Ableton via USB while:
1. MIDI track transmits MIDI notes to X-Station.
2. X-Station transmits audio to Ableton to record into an audio track.
Audio is recorded with a latency of 15 ms. I have set Novation ASIO to a minimum of what is 1ms.
But with this driver, I cannot get the sound out of the laptop. The sound comes back to X-Station and then I hear unison.
When I use FL Studio ASIO I can get the sound out of the laptop but this driver has a very limited setting possibility and the minimum latency to adjust is 256 what records audio with 90 ms latency.

 

Yeah, record it in and move the audio after.
Don't have your external audio device running off a usb hub.
Preferably the same with MIDI, but no so important because we can always correct it after.
