    Hi,
I think it'll be good idea to start something like Review section here on AudioSEX. The thing is, many reviews on the internet are in a way biased - author being sponsored by the product creators, censorship, price, marketing, etc.

Warez however provide very natural platform for unbiased reviewer, ability to test the product before purchasing it (on a full scale), to spot problems (mainly technical) and to provide overall opinion on how the product stands out. Such reviewer is not influenced in any way from the product creators, do not have any contracts, didn't pay for the product (hence he/she does not consider it good buy/bad buy).

The thing is, who would write such reviews? Personally I do not know, but consider this:
we have News, Our music, Audiosexed album, collaborations ... so in my opinion this calls for Review section.
I might be able to review Kontakt libraries, because I'm quite familiar with the program itself.

    What do you think?

It seems a good idea! I have another strange one... I wish to know from the lucky guys that have a software emulation and its hardware counterpart how much the two things are similar.. just curious... :bleh: :bleh:

Awesome suggestion! I would be willing to write library reviews as its my main interest. And you are right, most often the reviews I find online are somewhat biased or don't do the product justice (i.e., tapping the product's strong selling points). That Sounds And Gear guy on Youtube is one example, he reviews everything but doesn't know the application of most of the products he reviews.

SAiNT and I actually had an idea for another project on the same topic that was separate from AudioSex (I called it AudioSex Lab) but there's nothing stopping us from doing this in the interim. It would have to be someone else though because I already post the news, software news, tutorials, music, moderate on 2 sites, etc. I need some help from the community to make this happen. *yes*

First: Not all of us download Warez, I buy all the stuff I use, and I know some others here do as well. So we can tell whats a good/bad buy *yes*

What I would do instead of single persons reviewing stuff: When somebody wants do review a product he uses, he could start a topic in a seperated subforum here on audiosex, topic-title of course the name of the product. Than he can write whatever he thinks is right, and if there are others who also use or used this product, they can just answer with an additional review.
That way we would have a bigger bandwidth of opinions, and people can calculate better if they wanna buy/download the product.

Of course this would need some basic rules. For example when you start a topic you should add all important informations such as product name, who made it, link to the homepage, which format, size, etc...
Also people should write if they bought it or just downloaded it on audioz. They should also tell the rest which kind of music they make (Somebody making trance will give an hop hop drum kit properly a bad review...)
And answers should be reviews, no needles posts like "yeah cool text man" or "pfff, I hate vengeance" or stuff like that. Everything should be reviews only, no other comments. if people like it they can press the thanks button, if not: than not.

Well, just a few ideas... What do you think?

Andrew really nice idea. One of the most valuable things on forums is finding a few guides or reviews from others. I know that many people will be very thankful because of this, sometimes we want to try less and make more music, it´s an ocean of software options out there.

Someone you´re right man. A few 'rules' for posting are always needed.
For me is really important to know which kind of music reviewers make, for a more objective reading.

Also, it could be nice if the reviewer talks a little or list the main uses or purposes of that plug in his music, at least a few lines, so we don´t avoid the 'creative uses'. I think one of the ways to 'push our gear' nowadays is to try unusual stacking and settings.

And finally, we should maintain reviews concise. I like reading, but one of the most annoying things on reviews is to read/watch about what the reviewer had for breakfast that day. And yes, posts like "yeah cool text man" just make harder fro others to find the useful data *yes*

    Good idea Andrew!
Probably a sort of Wikipedia system is needed so that in the final article there are only relevant information but a topic is needed where anybody can suggest changes or add something to the product description.

^ I second that. It should be something fun to read, and something where the person reviews it in a way where they're kind of doing a show and tell with what they have and what they like and the reasons why they enjoy using whatever...

It should basically be reasonable, but subjective at the same time. And everyone would have a different skill and reviewing talent, like one reviewer is
really good at reviewing mastering plugins while another is really handy with soft synths. Not that you wouldn't be able to do it all, I mean that's even
better...but I'm sure we'll always see the specialist at play as well. *yes*

I hope that idea is not dead...

If SAiNT and a mod would take care of creating a sub forum, setting some rules up, and moderating it, I would be up for writing reviews... And I would love to read other reviews.

First come reviews, then come sections. Otherwise I'd go through all the work of getting sections made only to see them empty.

hopefully we'll get there slowly...this is a relatively new forum, strong activity will kick in soon...but the people who start have to be energised first, then the people would come...

I hope people haven't forgotten about this album we are making...I made an update thread but not sure if people viewed it or not

Things like this would attract more people and we could have an even more active community *yes*

Not at all, still planning on releasing a track I made for AudioSex. Its ready, but not completly ready.... Wait till the closing date, Im sure then people will drop their music in last minute (althought that makes the feedback-thingy kind of sensless for their tracks...)

However, i will drop something in early enogh to let you guys give me feedback, dont worry HK *yes*

    @Catalyst:
Where shoudl we post them? Tell me where to start the topic, and I will manage to write at least one review this weekend!
You choose: Dubtsep, HipHop or Chill/Ambient Samples??? Or a synthesizer... Shit i wanted to buy HGF Synths today...

I would probably put it in Education in the meantime and if it catches on then I will do my part and create a section for you guys.

It can be on whatever topic you'd like, if you have something in mind for synthesizers then that might be a good place to start to get people into writing their own reviews as that is not genre specific like samples for Dubstep, Hip-Hop or Ambient are.

I´ve to re-record a few guitar lines this weekend.
Sadly, I can´t be focused enough during the week, but the song is slowly growing

Will do. Allready started, I have the basic review now, just need to work on the details *yes*
I wrote it about Mix Control pro by TeamDNR, I think that would help more then another review about Sylenth1
But after I bought and really got to know the HG-Fortune Backlist Bundle, i will write something about that, too.

Hope others will follow and also write something.

Nice! Thanks for taking the initiative, something I really like to see at the forums. I know Andrew and Threadkiller are on board with some Kontakt library reviews and I'm sure we'll have at least a few other people that will jump in when this gets started.

now you're getting it *yes* :mates:

Andrew, thank you very much for sharing this idea.

I don't think it will require another moderator, but i'm gonna have to think through some strict requirements.
Right now i'm very busy finishing the new AudioZ. Once it's done, i'll take care of this new sub-section.

Thank you all for your support.
I'd like to review several Kontakt libraries, as well as compare the sound of each one, how does it go well with others...

That is...probably next weekend, because I'm in school all day
