Not only does Logic have many stock instruments, but they are really good from what I heard

Maybe just break it down one at a time, figure what that stock plug in does or emulates and then do some research or ask for some input on that specific thing? I don't think there is an all in one solution, but some really amazing plug ins out there that do the same thing only better! And perhaps there might be a site that would allow you to try things out... lol

You could get EZ keys and its expansions and cover a quarter if not half of the list

No about a quarter of it... get yourself a good subtractive syth like sylenth1 v3 and kontakt .. if you buy the right libraries you could have a nice setup filled with stuff you don't use or need.

yeah i also heard great things about them, also about the ES2, which is still very good for trance sounds after all. but also the FX plugins are very good.

yeah the sampled stuff is okay you get with Logic, i converted some EXS presets to kontakt, but for some it just didnt work, but the ones i have i use from time to time.

EZKeys has a good quality for size and easy to use just like the EZKeys Sounds.

Get Mainstage for the instruments and just play them from Reaper... Mainstage comes with all the Logic instruments/content/FX.

Could he not just get Logic and rewire into Reaper? Or connect in some other way, that he could remain in reaper, but access all the stuff in Logic?

Not really. All the Logic stuff is in Mainstage, and it's *designed* to be played. (It's basically the audio engine, instruments and effects from Logic, without the sequence bit or legacy problems.

Logic is designed to be a DAW, not a playback engine for other DAWs, and no, you can't use it as a Rewire Slave.

There's a reason I suggested to use Mainstage like this, because it offers you all the Logic stuff with some signficant advantages in ease of use and multitimbral instrument playback.

Perhaps you could look into bundles from other companies, like Arturia, NI or Waves (though that's mostly effects, right?). That should sort you out with keys and synths aplenty.

    Others, anybody?

Regardless you should find one that suits you, the biggest thing I miss from Logic myself are really things like Delay Designer and some of the sound beds were fantastic, not to mention Alchemy (yes, I know). Oh, and I've got a absolutely massive soft spot for ES1 though it ain't much by modern standards.

Logic Pro is a good offer for the price, but the comparison with Reaper is wrong. Reaper is a very good and solid cross platform DAW, stock effects are more than ok, the reasamplomatic 5000 is good for drums, it lacks some stock synthesizer, but you can get Vital or Surge just to name two.
The comparison should be done with Studio One or Cubase, then Logic Pro wins from a price perspective and if you are on a Mac.

Don't worry, I was with you bro!
I understood that the only reason someone would be jealous was if they were on WINDOWS!
And that's because I also use the concept of logic in life generally.
Amazed people came up with convoluted answers before realising this.

Was a Logic X guy for almost a decade and I much prefer the interface on Ableton stock synths by a mile. The interface on ES2 is f*ckin awful.

They've at least updated Sampler to look a bit nicer maybe eventually they'll sort some of the others.

I wonder what others suggest too,
Reaper user here too, but I prefer real instruments, only a very few virtual instruments merely for sound design purposes
    :thanks:

Yes very nice instruments. I only have the Garageband counterparts of their instruments on my iPad and i'm already impressed. Alchemy is very fun and i also like the smart drummer (or whatever it's called).
