Now that you mentioned 54 and studio, here are some facts about Studio 54 that you wont find in Wiki.
The real Studio 54 was already closed when 90% of the songs posted here were released. When the second Studio 54 re-opened, maybe a third of the songs posted here found their way into the DJs sets. These songs were the typical crossover hits of the day. Contrary to what people think about Studio 54,the music that was being played there during the week in the 80s was not what you would define as club music. Indeed, the only night that you could go to Studio 54 and dance to 95% of music that was not being played on the NYC radio stations was on Sunday Nights ("Gay nights") when Robbie Leslie was spinning. The rest of the nights was nothing special. For example, on Tuesday nights they had a DJ who owned Hi-Tech Records, a record store that specialized on hard to find dance singles. That was one of the 3 places I went to looking for rare music to include in my DJs sets. The owner's DJ sets at Studio 54,consisted of 90% "vanilla dance music." For example, he would play songs like Kool & the Gang's "Celebration," Lionel Richies "All Night Long," Madonna's "Holiday." Studio 54 in those days certainly was not catering to the same crowd that made Studio 54 the best dance club in the world, and place to be seen. It was catering to tourists from all over who would stand for hours outside waiting to get inside. Places like Xenon had Studio beaten by a mile. I can say with 100% certainty that any dance club in Miami or San Francisco during the 80s had better "dance club music" than Studio 54 did.

Something from the late 80ies...the beginning of Acid House. Really annoying...but I liked it the time it came out.
No.1 in the British Dance Charts.

    This is pure TB-303! :phunk::dj:

No Bob yet? He just about made it into the 80s and the rise of the 12" remix which actually suited later, poppier Marley stuff. Love these......who doesn't? Probvably my favourite artist of all time - the music, lyrics, the sentiment, the ethic.....all of it fucking spot on for me. Nobody else has hit all those things so much, for so long, with such class and quality? Bob (still) rulez.

I'm trying to find a nice hypnotic funk song from the early 80's, but I don't remember the title, actually it wasn’t so popular. The lead vocal did not sing, instead read a motivational text (something like: you are the best, you can do it, etc.)

Lyrics of choir were: make it happen - make it happen - make it happen…

I have (badly) tried to recreate it, as far as I remember it. Below is a snippet to provide the idea of the groove

if someone provide the title of this I will be happy forever

Didn't know about this tech term!
Believe it or not it happened in many other discos, not even close to Studio 54 fame.

Speaking of the 80's we can't forget movie industry.
Some film were good, some were bad, some were very bad.
Yet was not uncommon to have wonderful OSTs even in bad movies.

Here some example of very bad movie (to me at least) with memorable music.
    Xanadu:

Break Dance (Ain't Nobody was used many times in discos as warm-up):

You're welcome... read the story behind that. Not as popular as Madonna, but...

I always felt artistic power behind this song but I never knew who was involved in it
The Force is strong with this one
(Reading wiki now I understand why)

    Thanks

Fun fact: Peter Schilling learned English so he could sing the English language version of his own song. (The German language version will always remain the preferred version for me.)
