Saw an online comparison between the HG-2 hardwarwe unit and the PA plug-in.

Even on my work computer with just a tinny mono speaker I could hear the difference.
With my home comp and studio monitors I could really hear more resolution and air on the hardware.
I can't afford the hardware and will use the software out of necessity.
Wish I was one of these rich bitches who have walls full of multi-thousand dollar processors.
    Unh, hey Behringer

Almost the same thing that you are doing here complaining on the hardware owners without commenting on the software. :dunno:At least, he did comment on the software. The comment by @WillTheWeirdo and the video posted by @Kluster should serve as reference to those who do not own the hardware. It also shows that developers will tell us anything in order to sell their plug-in emulations. With that said, if a plug-in sounds good to any of us, and if it fits our workflow, whether it is a perfect emulation or not is secondary. Only problem I have is with the premium price developers attach to a plug-in they claim is a perfect emulation of an expensive piece of hardware.

Always glad to help. I was hoping for a really cheap upgrade for existing users as well. I won't pay 50 bucks for this because I don't need an extra m/s version of this plugin. They could have just upgraded the existing one and add an extra ms version for free, since m/s is anintegral part of most of their other plugins anyway. But no, they need to cash in on it, of course.

Sounds to me like he wasn't even trying to match them correctly. Why would he? To find out that his expanesive hardware is not worth more than the plugin? I am happy with what the plugin can do.

Saturation plugins can quickly add dirt, this is the area where we still need better emulations, hardware does it a lot better.

Mate, care to elaborate on what your personal problem is with saturation plugins?

Yeah I think so. I was excited at first when I saw this, but then realized it was already very simple to do these things within the DAW using m/s and band splits. I know in Ableton it would be very quick and easy, can't say for other DAWs but I imagine it's similar. I guess it's slightly more convenient to have it in the plugin? Don't think it's worth the $45 upgrade from the HG-2 tho...
