Is there something (soft, vst, max4live) for measurement precise bpm in real time from audio?

I tested vst BeatCounter by Teragon Audio and it sucks my ass.
    Absolute garbage.

Well any DJ sw will do it, but usually I tap the first 30 secs of a song (Traktor), cause sw sometimes doesn't cacth it correctly.
However they have to analyze the track to get bpm.
Moreover unless it's a drum machine you won't have a constant bpm all over the track, see Rick Beato on that matter.

    Vadim Melnik BPM Counter.
This is an old freebie standalone application, x86. It doesn't measure, it works by pressing Enter, Space buttons or mouse click.

I've only seen standalone software or DJ software do it, which means you have to feed it the file of your track to get a result.

Most use the standalone software for identifying the BPM of tracks that exist already which you can more than likely do a search on to find much quicker.

For more obscure stuff or custom work use the DJ software like orbit suggested. Tap to bpm inside your daw could work too. I haven't seen a realtime bpm plugin or anything but it could very well exist.

Not sure why you need PRECISE measurement. THAT prerequisite is probably the downfall of your needs. I use TAP BMP to tap the space bar to find the APPROXIMATE tempo of an audio file, and then I round it up to the nearest whole number. If the audio is already done to a tempo it is most likely done with a whole number and this will get you so close that a little trial and error from that point will get you the exact tempo of the audio file. If it was not played to a metronome then knowing the exact tempo is kind of a moot point. I am an old hand at this and I can tell you that knowing the approximate tempo is all you really need. I say that because after I do a "repeat" of the tapping I am pretty sure I am close to what the truth is for the file and from there incrementing up and down a tick from that approximation usually finds the exact tempo of the file. This assumes that the audio you are testing was done to a click to begin with and uses whole numbers. Why anyone would not use whole numbers for tempo is beyond me. So I suggest that your thinking about this is flawed more than the app you are trying to use. Here is tap BPM.

So I found a diamond! It's pitty that is only for Android device.
I don't understand why something like this doesn't exist as VST.
It will be a very handy tool inside DAW!
App is called liveBPM and measure BPM in real time using a mic.
I tested it on my old android phone with damaged mic with Behringer TD-3 and works brilliant.
App was able to give an precise constant BPM between 62 BPM - 194 BPM.
I tested it with some songs and even then app works great.

For example I set tempo of Behringer TD-3 to 137.89 BPM
And App give measure ~137.89 BPM
    Amazing!

Now We have technology which is able to do it precisely but something like this still doesn't exist.
Technology I mean AI learning scripts which are able to learn processes and then auto count repetitive patterns in audio signal and give precise constant BPM. Something like when You set warping markers in Ableton it gives You BPM but quick auto in real time.
BTW this app on android is old and doesn't use AI scripts. Programmist done good job!

OH shit I just remembered what standalone software I had. It's called Mixmeister BPM Analyzer.

I actually had a similar experience with a super useful & unique android app that I haven't found an equivalent to called Producer Tools. I mean this shit is all around USEFUL to any producer making anything. I would pull it up on my old andoid tablet in the middle of writing sessions constantly, it was a great companion.

They had a free version but when I got it first day I just bought the full version which was cheap. But I think it might be free now, I just found this link for it.

Need is a mother of invention.
I needed something which tells me what the exact tempo is on my TD-3 to sync drums from other device using only audio.
Tap BPM isn't helpful in this situation. It gives results far away from precise and I am not even able to tap properly.
How to tap the tempo of Acid sound where is squelchy whoop whoop with slide notes :dunno:
    I can't tap 180 BPM because I can broke my nails:rofl:
I needed something which precisely measure BPM. Even 0.1 BPM difference results unsync audio after few seconds.
For now Android App liveBPM is best that I found.

SimpleBPM isn't for me. It gives only full bpm. What if track will be for example 120.5 BPM? Result will be misrepresented.
Like I mention in the first post I tested BeatCounter by Teragon Audio and this vst isn't good. It sucks.

Serato Sample does detect bpm of the loaded audio file.

For real time, I think that old Android app called LiveBpm is very good, also using the line-in option inside Virtual Dj, detects the bpm in real time. Other than that, it depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

I think OP is just frustrated he can't tap exactly to the beat of an obscure BPM like "128.54" because sometimes the bpm isn't rounded to the nearest whole number.

He can't get the cents right at the end of each BPM because they are near impossible to nail on your own.

So when you round up or down to the nearest whole number then it's off because the true bpm is very odd so it will eventually slide out of sync from each other even though it will sound synced up from the beginning & OP's not trying to sit there dialing in guessing games all day to get it right.

Hello. Yes, this is one I have and I have no complaints. It measures to the hundredth (ie 126.73) so it should be what you're looking for. Other than it not being a VST.
When I first got it I just had it scan my whole music folder (3139 songs) and it only took about 20 min. Then it let's you make a txt file out of the results.
I must go now. I love you all...all of you.

Oh well then fuck, thanks a million for replying and filling me in on that man! I had no idea I could I could mass scan my folder with Mixmeister then export a text document for myself. I've not been using the shit to it's fullest potential!

In Reaper you have the function to detect tempo from time selection. Works perfectly!

Where do you find a track that is more off-tempo then 0.5?

then you align it in the grid 1/4 and you will have something like 120 - 121 and playing around and checking later in the track gives you that it could be 120.4-120.6 and playing a bit longer around will tell you, oh its 120.5

actual virtual dj does a very good job detecting these .x BPM values.
i had one track which had 138.85 BPM i dont know why?
