Studio One 5.2 - New Features
Editing note events in the Piano View is faster and easier than ever in Studio One 5.2. When editing Note events inside the Piano View, the Arrow Tool turns into a real “Smart Tool” at higher zoom levels—without ever having to switch tools!

In addition to selecting, moving and resizing note events using the Arrow Tool, the following additional functions can now be changed all with the same useful tool:

    Note velocity
    Mute/unmute event
    Split note event
    Split note event and part
    Glue adjacent notes

    New in Studio One 5.2
The Arranger Track lets you try arrangements on the fly before committing to a new playback order. The updated Arranger Track Inspector lets you quickly jump to different sections of your song from a quick view list. Simply double-click an Arranger Section while another section is playing and Studio One will seamlessly transition from one section to another—without skipping a beat! Also new to 5.2: you get even more robust live arrangement functionality with Arranger Tracks in the Show Page, in both Setlist view and Performance view!

Live arranging is available both from the Arranger Track timeline and the Arranger Track Inspector. When combined with loop playback mode and “Loop follows selection” enabled, you have the ultimate remix experimentation environment. Best of all, Arranger Sections can even be controlled from any hardware controller or Studio One Remote.

Use the new Patches View in Studio One 5.2 to see all the Patches for a given Player on an easy-to-read grid to quickly recall Patches for your virtual or real instruments, effectively turning Studio One into a powerful master (keyboard) controller. Or open the new Arranger View to see a grid of all available Arranger sections. Set each section to loop and Studio One turns into a powerful loop launcher!

Studio One 5.2 adds the Arranger Track to the Show Page, letting you experiment on the fly while you're on stage or live streaming from your studio. For each Arranger section in every Setlist song have a choice of five playback modes: Continue, Stop at End, Skip, Loop, or Loop and Continue; the last of which lets you repeat any section for a specific number of times before playback continues to the next Arranger Section.

New in Studio One 5.2, each setlist item can now be equipped with its own Arranger Track, letting you assign different Patches to the same Player for different sections of your song or turn your song into a dynamic and interactive loop performance!

New in Studio One 5.2, Chord Track information can now be transferred from your Song to your Show so you’ll never miss the next chord again!

New in Studio One 5.2, you can now use Studio One Remote 1.6 on your favorite mobile devices as a master controller for your live performance! Take the Performance View with you on stage to take charge of your Show. Best of all, multiple devices can connect to the same computer running Studio One so each player can control their own patches right from their mobile device.

I know, for sure, there will be two new commands (one for creating a Folder Bus and one for creating a Folder VCA) because I am the one who luckily discovered it and the Presonus team said, they will officially add that command.

Buddy, you could've pointed that out in your comment. That would be much easier than acting like little aggressive f*ck :winker:

Man, I will be so glad when Reaper gets a Chord Track.
These 'big' updates that these DAWs come with be some stuff Reaper has figured out long ago.

    Like really?
    Midi note split?
    Midi note join?
    Velocity?

    All with the same tool?

    Oh wow!

right about know they are showing a "preview". only for the sphere subscribers..
I have liked presonus but this sphere crap will fail. i dont give it a year more

its just crappy offers, "private" silly previews of videos that end up public after a short after. some artist interviews... ffs presonus, aim instead at the ideal of making the perfect daw, and make your money with onetime payments (!) winning new generational customers. <Put your effort on winning people who because of a great reputation gladly choose to buy a full-fledged-giving-it-all-daw-package from a company that works to give you the perfect package. instead of this pathetic greedy attempt called sphere, rent to own nothing.

dont destroy your hard earned goodwill, dont butcher it with subscriptions and addons that must sale crumbs and only consume resources and then just end up making customers irritated.

    Death to Sphere!

@Karate Grownup, ya know what... I AM a Reaper guy, AND an S1, Ableton Live and Bitwig guy as well.

I'm just one of the somewhat conflicted when it comes to DAWs, b/c they all "almost" have all I want. And then when I see the updates, it's usually not what I really want. I do give Studio One the utmost respect though at atleast trying to accommodate the different workflows users have acquired from other DAWs. And that is the reason I even monitor Studio One. Ableton Live 11, while it has its bells and whistles, fall very short for a music theory nut, like myself. The 60s - mid 90s were my inspirations of music. NOT the whole random notes and whole destruction of audio crap. To me, being that I don't use Cubase, Studio One is maybe the most wholesome DAW that's available.

Now, with Reaper, what I love about about it (among many reasons) is that it doesn't half-step on features. Whatever it does offer, is worked on tirelessly until it is fully covered in depth, that's why its releases are not as buggy as some DAWs.

But back to Studio One. It's a pleasant surprise to see a new update being released. But what I'm really wanting to see is some of that competitiveness feature-wise, especially with Ableton getting a lot of attention at the moment.

Also, in regards to the Arranger Track, it would be good to see it be multi-level, or allow overlapping of parts.
Reaper uses "Ranges" for this, and they can be overlapped and levels deep. I find that useful for when a parts contain parts.

    ---

I do find the Arranger Track acting as somewhat a Clip Launcher quite interesting though.

I have a question about Studio One. I have a member on my collab group who requested wav from me because the version of studio one that he has does not include mp3 support. I think I got this right that it costs $10 more to get mp3 encode. So I showed him a freeware converter. The question I have is about lame.dll which we can get for free. I had a friend who configured cakewalk sonar to use lame.dll, which I thought was cool. Is it possible to configure studio one the use lame.dll? I also told him he could get audacity and configure it to use lame.dll, but I am wondering if we can go into setup and have it go to and use lame.dll?

Myself I would just spend the $10 to do the upgrade but he has posted that he is struggling to pay a huge water bill, so I understand when people don't have extra cash for this type of thing. If I could show him how to configure studio one to use lame.dll directly it'd solve this. Aren't most DAWs able to use lame.dll if configured properly?

Also... I have a question as well...

Within Impact XT, how does one delay, offset, or nudge pad layers?
Most drum machines, e.g. Poise, can do this for Pad layers.

There was a thread around here with a videobut from my quick search, I couldn't find it. When I have a little more time, I'll do a more thorough search and post it for you. It's been reported to PreSonus so no worries, they're aware.
Well it's more than I knew about it so I appreciate the post. Thanks Eddie.

Studio one also needs to fix the issue with automation on the master bus not being included in some mixdowns when exported.
