This thread is going too fk fast, difficult to catch in.

To me, Another Life, followed by Baby not tonight, then I'm ready.

Who was behind many productions, and Pink Project too BTW.

    Trilogy?

    Den Harrow?

Oh yes, I did, i put it in a mix too (three degrees - jump the gun before, shalamar - dancing in the streets after).
However I like the original edit version (videoclip).

Valid but nonetheless shameless Madonna/Culture Club clone.

I think I have not seen yet Adam Ant, is it?
Gazebo - I like Chopin is too predictable?

Who told that songs are remembered only when you're happy?

This song is tied to a really bad moment of my life, yet I think is wonderful.
The original video was censored because of nudity, what a pity.

    Same (bad moment) for this:

I'll try from now on to put not too obvious songs that any "beginner" of vintage could know, like the mentioned before I like Chopin.

I think someone could have heard the chorus from Bananarama Look on the floor (featuring Alan Rickman in the video clip), the original was this, powered by the mastermind of Malavasi, the real king of italo disco:

    Always from Malavasi:

After hearing some of the masterpieces posted here, I can only conclude, Thank god the 80s are dead and buried. No more synth arp bass. Long live progress.

I have the original LPs Magic Fly and Just Blue, that by the way is entirely made of translucent blue vinyl.

The cover version of Flagio to me is even better than the original version of Material.

The original is better to me, however it's from 77.
There is a nice story about the synth (MCS70) used in production, read (the same engineer who designed the Synthex!):

It is actually two bass tracks. One a OB-8 synth bass, and the other percussive live bass.

Another one of my favorites but little known track of the time is "Il Veliero" by Chaplin Band a Dutch disco group from Maastricht, Netherlands. Formed in 1976 by brother Jo Bartels & John Bartels.

@babuk if this is a trolling attempt, I would say it failed. If, on the other hand, yours is just a lack of knowledge of the past then try to open your eyes and ears to what is happening in the present era, you would realize that the influence of the 80s is quite strong today.

    Music:
The hundreds of soul / hiphop songs with 80's samples inside or that follow patterns typical of that era
    • Bruno Marss, the king of nostalgia
    • Synthwave and all its sub-derivatives (darkwave, vapor, etc.)
    • Dance music: Daft Punk (do I still have to say something?)
    Trivia:
Listen to this nice song from 2018 and try to tell me which 80's artist she was influenced by
    (solution on bottom page)

    Cinema
Half of the Hollywood blockbuster movies are remakes of the 80's or heavily influenced by that era: Blade Runner, Star Wars, Terminator, Stranger Things tv series, to name just a few

    Graphic arts:
    Neo-noir:

    80's cute:

    Cyberpunk:

    Tropical:

You may or may not like the 80's, but they continue to be a part of modern life today, even if you don't realize it.

Have to admit there are lots of 8-ties tracks that I can't stand anymore, they belong to that era, should stay there. But quite a couple are really timeless. When I heard them they took me into another reality, and actually still do! Here's a few more (yup, I'm a sucker for Vocoders ):

Damn, first 2 are seventies songs! But I heard them in the 8-ties, they just belong in this topic.
