I don't know why this happen. I never had any problems with export.
Maybe You doing something wrong
Try this.
Before export set loop which is representation of length of Your track.
Then click on the loop bar. Now everything should be selected.
Click File -> Export Audio.
Render length should be the same as length of your loop.
After tweaking settings just click Export and in the next window just click Save.
Are You still having crashes?

no, not yet.
But as an idea to find the problem, I would check if Live has "write permissions" to the folder involved in the security tab ov Win Explorer.
Both, exporting files and updating the database need write permissions so it would be not uncommon to have a problem there.
Did you try it starting live as admin?

For the Explorer, try setting "everyone" with read/write/execute permissions in the Security tab for all user accessible directories (e.g. "users" or "users\myName\...) in the lowest part of the directory tree with inheritance for the higher levels.

As @ArticStorm said it seems to be a serious problem of your Win installation. I would recommend an installation from scratch.

Thanks for the feeds. But no success. So here's the deal. I think whenever live is about to call explorer.exe (either to export, add a folder, add location etc), it performs two errors; either live freezes without any pop-up window or when the mini explorer loads up, u can't navigate ur way to a different location because it will freeze up and the only thing you have to do is close Live from the task manager. I have reseted Live, reinstalled, deleted the database, everything. But this is still persistent. The only thing I haven't done is formatting/reinstalling windows which I feel reluctant to as I have so many stuff installed over the years and windows is just perfect for me. It started after I installed a version 10.1XX but after reverting to an even earlier version, the problem remained. To export a project, I have to go through the freeze, close and reopen Live, launch the export process and this time it the explorer window will load for me to chose à destination. At this point, I'm only obliged to chose what ever location comes up but the moment I try to change, the freeze occurs.

 

the new lfo thing is great on live's efx.

I won't be going back to 10 even if it crackled a bit too soon on occasion, but I'd consider going back to Cubase on the Atari

Please which files am I changing permissions to? And yes. @ArticStorm may be right, since no one else faces this problem. But reinstalling from scratch is what I'm really trying to avoid because of the amount of software installed on my PC and the fact that I have to re-download the installation files (the internet is my secure backup btw

 

Maybe try external file explorer instead of Windows Default.
I'm using Directory Opus as additional file browser and is great.
You can set it as Windows Default.

There's many other file explorers but I'm not shure if too had options to set as Windows Default.

may be a good idea but not yet because Paul seems to have permission problems that must be solved first.

First step should be a full backup.
(As I don't have an englisch Win 10 installation the commands and captions may be a little different)
You may need to set permissions of the directories not single files.
The following will enable read/write/execute permissions to the directory "users", all subdirectories and files inside:

try the following for the "users" directory:
open explorer and got to you C:\ drive
Right click on the Directory "Users"
In the menu click on "Properties"
Click the Tab "Security"
In the bottom right of the window the is a button "extended"
Click "change permissions"
From the list of all users select the user "everyone"
Click on "inherit permissions"
In the window under "Basic Authorizations"
Check "Full Access"
Close all windows with OK
(or if you think you've done something wrong use "cancel" of course)

over the years is the keyword: Windows tends to a little degradation over time. Small errors build up to bigger errors until Windows gets almost unusable.
Although this has improved over the years, it is still there. Therefore, you cannot avoid a new installation every few years, even with Windows 10, if you value a stable and reliable system.

Strange. Im on the same system. But for me Serum works fine. So far not tested Ozone. But for me, my plug-ins from Melda Productions are able to load, but not working - just a black box when the plugin window loads.

 

In Directory Opus Preferences.
And set it to every time Run It As Admin.
And Set it to Autorun with Windows Start.

 

That "Users" folder restarts explorer.exe everytime I try to click on "Edit" or "Advanced" buttons to change permissions.

 

There is definitely something wrong in your system. I really think, you should do a reinstall in the nearer future.
If the explorer has issues it should at least bring you an error message and not just reatart itself.
Try to use an Explorer replacement as @Roject said.
But Explorer is not the root of the problem because Live has problems exporting files as well (normally an app won't call exlorer to manage files but a system function).
So try to change security settings for the folders as discribed for Windows Explorer in the replacement (The procedure will differ a little)

 

If You can't change those settings through file explorer try changed it through windows registry or command line.

 

Was already malfunctioning in Live 10 for me (on High Sierra back then)

Just found a bug that when I switched from Arrangement to Session View the Channel strip became empty for a second like had no controls lol
