I've read the Arousor manual and they stated that a lot of digital domain stuff couldn't be made because of the complex design of the Distressor circuit (or Empirical Labs design in general) topology, so tradeoff is made because they want to stay true to the design. Not sure if this is one of them, I'm no coders but it shouldn't be that hard to make control selectable with a direct click. The other reason could simply be they want make it feels like the hardware, some people like it that way.

I know why...The software engineers at Eli are so proficient at coding that that they have come up with a way to make a Lil bit go a lot longer way. The marketing department at Softube picked up on this and hence the heft in price.

    And now you know.

    Don't byte me.

Well, on the Arousor there is no arrows for the ratio, you just click directly on the different ratio "LEDs". On all of the other "knobs" you can either double-click to type in the desired setting, scroll with the mouse-wheel or just drag it up and down with the cursor. That's a sooo much better solution than having to click on a button several times until you get to where you want it. The ONLY good thing I can see about this GUI is that it is resizable!

Er, yes - and that's *exactly* how it works in the Softube plugin, you can just click on the led's to directly select one of these things.
(And you can also use the buttons to mimic the hardware experience too, if you wish.)

So I'm not sure what you are complaining about, other than wanting to invent a non-existing problem so you can complain about something...

Did you *actually* demo the Softube plug? Of course you can click the leds, drag the mouse, or mouse scroll wheel the knobs...

Finally, is there something positive about this new release from Softube?
    What interest ?

The 2 plugins from Empirical Labs are excellent.
I don't think people who already have the originals are going to buy these new plugins.
And those who don't have them yet will certainly go for the originals for the more reasonable price as well.

Bad deal for Softube ??? :dunno:

ELI Plugins are horribly expansive unfortunately.

But at some point I'd like to get Arouser, when it's on sale. It's just so incredible on drums.

Who buys plugins on retail price anyway? :D

I was initially very happy about the news that scalable GUIs have been implemented. After updating my plugins, disillusionment sets in: Instead of vectorizing the graphics or replacing the old ones with high resolution graphics, the old - anyway very low resolution - graphics are simply interpolated. It's a washed-out staircase massacre... :deep_facepalm:

It can't be that difficult for Softube to re-render the 3D models in higher resolution, can it??

Usually the approch is to simplify the gui and vectorize it or to have 3 different fixed sizes if you want to keep the look of a more complex gui. I think scalable GUIs are great as long as they work. But if they don't it breaks the illusion of that plugin being a "thing" and that's really bad- Especiall if it cost 249 $.

You are correct, sorry! I don't know why I didn't just try to click the leds before I wrote that! I guess I just took Mixbus David's explanation of the plug-in for granted

About adjusting the knobs by dragging the mouse, I was just describing Arousor and didn't mean that you can't do it on MIKE-E but I see why it was interpreted like that.

I also noticed that! Not a big problem for me but I can guess that people with 4k monitors are a bit more disappointed.

No. It's a 5 minutes of work and waiting for renders.
Maybe They delete these 3D models. Throw away into the trash

Agreed! Not only that, but even if you wanted to purchase directly from their site, their payment processor Braintree (look these jokers up) will have errors processing your purchase 90% of the time. Might as well wait for someone on hard times and buy their actual hardware units.

Oh my god. I just check Weiss EQ1 v2.5.12
Every Softube scalable plugin is like that. Mike-E and Lil Freq too

Softube?! We are joke to you!?

It scalling the whole plugin. Even the top plugin bar.
Everything is in the raster based on 1 small picture per element
I open it in resource hacker.
    Is this a freakin joke?!

    Original size of elements:

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

The smallest element has 20 x 40 px
Panties on my avatar have more pixels.

    WTF?! :beg::crazy:

They just add a scalling alghorithm to the plugins.
    They didn't do anything else!!!
They should add a bigger images as a base and few different sizes.

and on top of that, they have no scalable Plugin GUI's, nor does scaling work with StudioOne's own scaling. Or do they meanwhile updated their stuff, last time I asked they told me, no plugins do not scale
