    Is it like B2 from 2C Audio (=> https://www.2caudio.com/products/b2#_overview )!?

Or what's the difference, regarding hybrid reverb to 2 separate, serialized reverbs, one impulse reverb and one algo reverb?
I don't get the idea here...

My go to Verb was the Lexicon PCM Collection, since yesterday i tested it against the Hybrid Reverb and i think it sounds pretty good! Im just a dude who likes to test plugins against each other.I know i can keep multiple ones but im just interested how it sounds to other people

Wow they left the old Reverb (and the other devices they upgraded independent from each other, So we have Hybrid Reverb and Reverb, Redux 1 and Redux 2, which is awsome, etc)

I like the IR's included with the Hybrid Reverb, might use it as reverb on a Return Track. And looks also good CPU optimized. Which is also a good thing.

So good job by Ableton on this device.

Really like the old convolution reverb. Wondering if the hybrid reverb is a combination of the old Convolution plus the old algo reverb in 10 ? Or they completely redesigned it from the ground up ?

well the old convo reverb was a M4L device, i am not sure if its a redesign? Could be. Maybe somebody needs to do a side by side comparision?
I guess even the IRs are the same?

The M4L convo reverb was a big CPU hog, never used it over the years. It was a nice attempt to make M4L more compelling, but this didnt work out, since implementation was back in the days really crappy.

But since they have a better implementation of M4L into Ableton, i like working with some of the M4L devices - in some cases i have no other choice, like with the LFO device. Sometimes at night, im dreaming of a native LFO device in Ableton. :guru:

Oh, I didn't know that M4L devices is a known CPU Hog. Never really pay attention before about the Convo Reverb CPU usage. It was okay at my system, nothing alarming so far. The LFO (or any a sequencer) though, whenever I get what I need, I'll use the resampling/consolidate. So didn't really pay attention about it as well, so I never knew. LOL. Had some bad experience not getting "the sound it was" (not Live's fault, it's my brain) on the next day with modulation stuff so I always do that (resampling/consolidate) the moment it feels good to me and commit.

this is getting out of hand. The whole day I've been thinking about this. lol. hard to focus. So, why they didn't make the LFO native ? With all other new crazier designs of their new fx and stuff, why LFO has to be M4L and not native. Ableton already know the importance of LFO for sound design and it is almost as important as Tuner these day (not really, but not that far behind). True that as an alternative user can always do the automation, but why they chose not to make it native, rewrite the code make it a little lighter in CPU as well while they are at it. Is this some kind of "patent" thingy ? or they don't want to mess up the Live internal clock and let the processing happen on other framework (i dont know the word, im no coders, but you get the idea) so Live is reliable on live performance. Sounds a little dumb, but that is the only thing I can think of. You know anything about this ?

So even though the LFO device is in the main panel for stock FX it's still the old M4L device?

I dig the hybrid reverb. You can balance between the two if you want just convolution or just algorithmic, or blend them. I'm enjoying the sound from it and think it sounds way better than the old stock reverb even on high quality settings.

yes you can see this on icons, its like an eletronic platine, while the native ableton devices are like rack icons.

I dunno why i like the old stock reverb so much, maybe because it has an eco setting, which i always use and then adds some kind of graininess? Can you notice, when old ableton reverb is on eco and High mode in the mix?

I am not sure how muchCPU power it takes, but maybe it adds latency? (i noticed last night, when you go over the devices, then you can see how much latency it adds on the channel and how much it needed to be balanced, for example spectral resonater is an M4L device and adds good 7ms of latency to the chain)
Never thought about latency in last version ...

Nah they are just to lazy to fix it and recode it as native device? Not sure if it would mess with the internal clock?
