Tested some of the Spitfire packs, it is good, as their Kontakt Library but only 2-10% in size, simpler, lighter and doesn't eat your CPU.

well, it has been a long Trial period. Time to migrate to full version!

 

Can I install both Ableton Live 10 and 11 on the same PC ?

 

yes.

Installed, running smoothly, all the old and new packs work!
Can open old (Live 10) 40+ tracks project with a lot of processing and track freeze smoothly.
Can be installed along with the Live 10. Both working.
Load faster than the Trials version even after restarting the PC. lol

 

Indexing has improved. Like, A LOT.
Still at work. Can't wait to try the new devices that weren't in the trial.
It's a good time to be alive but as I'm typing this I realize it's always a good time to be alive.

guys where are all the new effects ? I cant find the new hybrid reverb or the spectral stuff

 

Spectral Time is under Browser>Audio Effects>Delay & Loop
Spectral Resonator is under Browser>Audio Effects>Reverb & Resonance

Hey, im pretty new to this, do I need to download the suite packs if I use the suite installer? Or is this just a placeholder for now? (sorry for dumb question)

 

I'm new to ableton and just downloaded it and wanted to know where I find and install all the packs.

 

I wonder if HCiSO will swoop in to save the day with a patch script? I loved those, but they're gone.

 

As I wrote below the R2R Windows post of Ableton 11,

Here again:
The new Ableton Installer sucks!
It copies the whole installation package including the big cab files to
C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\{A-Cryptic-Name}v11.0.0.0
and places its known "Setup.msi" file there.



That means it takes 2,13GB of extra space from your disk, even if it doesn't use these files in any way after Ableton is installed.
Uninstalling works the same even if the cab files are not present and modifying the installation isn't possible, even if the cab files are there.

So my recommendation is:
After you've installed Ableton 11, go to that folder, delete the cab files (not the msi file) and save yourself 2GB of space.
To prevent placing those space consuming files next time, you also can copy the "Setup.msi" file from the Package Cache folder
next to your "Ableton Live 11 Suite Installer.exe" file and install Ableton from that msi file instead of the installer.exe.

The installation package then looks like that:

@ArticStorm weird, I couldn't find Ptichloop89 or the inspired by nature devices like Tree Tone. Where are they located? I searched.

 

I'm not ArticStorm, but I'll answer anyways: Pitchloop89 and Inspired by Nature devices are from a separate pack that is included with a Live 11 license. So, you can get them by either downloading the .alp files from ArticStorm's other thread or by activating a Live 11 trial and downloading 'em from your account page.
