I could be wrong, but I've been under the impression that the 369 add ons include 3rd party stuff that isn't included with the Suite. Unless 3rd party libraries don't require authorization. (A Kontakt vs Kontakt Player library situation.)

It doesn't help they don't seem to advertise those numbers anywhere in the Ableton package comparisons, only instrument counts and gigabyte numbers.
Cool. Do the packs actually load? Let us know if you run into any issues/improvements over Live 10.

This (see picture below) happened a lot when I try to load a rack/preset from the Live 10 factory packs. Not all though, some (2/10) works fine. Majority of it, can only preview the sound, but when you try to load it, the warning appeared and the samples become offline. Just tested 20-30 packs at this point.

    Improvements so far :

    1. The VST/VSTi load faster than usual. You can actually feel it load faster. Especially those heavy synths.
    2. I love the feature to load the sample to RAM. Plus some new warping stuff I have yet to understand. Added warping quality I believe.
    3. Spectral Resonator. I use it on every track. lol.

I noticed this too, but ableton uses 60MB extra ram, compared to empty v10 project, but if stuff loads faster im up for it.

so here this confirms, we can install ableton 11 below the given WIn10 build #
    [IMG]
I have several win10 services deactivated, like winupdate, cortana, Edge, etc - I am not sure if thats connected with no version check?
(Btw, this build is from around Feb 2020, it has all critical updates till today, but no bloat)

are you talking about the new packs ?

For Windows Live 11 Trials, just go the website, log in, make sure already registered the Trials, download the pack, drag it into the Live 11 Trials. Careful not to double click as it will load in the Live10 if you have that in your computer. The authorization will happen automatically in the Live11, online.

    INFO :
I've downloaded the Spitfire Brass Quartet pack (https://www.ableton.com/en/packs/brass-quartet/) and installed and it works in the Trials Live11.
The new pack will be installed at the same place as the one you selected for Live10 (if you still have it), if you select another packs folder location, it will change the setting in your Live10 as well (not sure). When I tried to change it, it asks to move all my old packs to new place. I just clicked no, revert back and set it at the same place as Live10. So, if anyone tried to change it, see what happens and report back please.

When I tried to open the newly downloaded pack (Spitfire Brass) in Live10, it failed to load with message "the preset could not be loaded because the pack is broken,". So, it will only work in the Trials Live11.
    - just noticed that the new pack minimum requirement is Live 11.

Inspired By Nature (https://www.ableton.com/en/packs/inspired-nature/) is also cool.

Bro what are all these ableton packs? are they any good? I never bothered getting anything other than what came with R2R release of ableton live 10 and these stock ableton sounds sounded rly bad to me, but now I am curious about these many packs that you talkin about.
Is it stuff worth getting or it can't compete with Spectrasonics/Kontakt libraries and with other serious synths?

I would have to make big changes to my storage to make space for such amount of packs so that's why I am asking, as I don't have infinite space on SSD

@ArticStorm If you only need pc for music, maybe...but for anything mixed (eg if you need good use of videocard) I highly suggest to get at least windows version 2004+ because of big improvements in how windows handles VRAM. (and sorry for double post)

yeah everything over 1906 has improved bloat in it, mean ads, telemetry, annoying updates, they went crazy on this.

My Soundcard has 12ms (audio in+out) on windows 8.1 Pro, couldnt dream of more. So no need to upgrade to win10 and for the notebook this win version i have at the moment is enough.

What I really like about the ALP (Ableton packs) are the custom racks and instrument racks in it. A good pack, you can get 4 5 of that stuff. It's like 4 5 new plugins/instruments in each pack if you are lucky. Unique plugins/instruments. The sampled-based instrument sometimes sampled from really good old/rare synth and real environment. Have to check at the website about each pack, I like doing that, it feels that everything has some meaning to it, not just some sample pack. Each pack is unique in its own way I guess, so does the custom racks.

The custom fx racks, drum racks, anything rack in the ALP are saveable as preset, so if you like any, just drag it into your own folder for quick access later. I love that workflow in Ableton. Mostly complex/complicated ones that could take hours to create that is already simplified to few macro knobs but still highly tweakable if needed. The point is to mix them all with one another and create a new one.

Max For Live device in it somemore. New plugins! The sequencer alone enough to make you go crazy for a day.

The drum racks already added with FX chain for certain drum character/sound or mood, if I found something that I like, I'll save it, then when I found good samples pack (the daily sample from sister site), just pull them into the rack and see what it sounds, play and experiment so I get new sound. All that in less than a minute, new sound every time even using the same rack. Add that with the FX processing rack with some crazy chain. Surprises every time.

The samples mostly are basic at best, but it's clean (because Ableton quality control or something, the sample has to be high quality) and super useful to go crazy with them with fx processing, filter and create something else from it.

But, it needs a lot of time and patience (and luck). Understanding, sorting, renaming, organize etc.

I don't like rompler (omnisphere etc) so I can't comment about that. I also don't keep big Kontakt library, used to have the Spitfire stuff but get bored too quick with them. Starting with something that already sound good doesn't really inspire me.

Yeah the Default Session brought the CPU to 200% lol

But damn, it's Live 11 on Windows 7. Cool!

Does 11 still merge all incoming MIDI data into one channel?
eg: If you load the Reason Rack plugin, does it give you the option to select channels or is it all merged?
I haven't had time to install or test.
