I had an audionews account for a while before I found AudioZ. As some others have said it's a pain in the ass to keep up the ratio. Once I download something I put it into my organized library folders whether its a sample library or a vst and I clean up my C drive. It's a pain in the ass to have all these rars, zips, etc, that you don't need just sitting on your drive taking up space while they seed. Before I found AudioZ I would just keep donating to keep my account active and then found that just using RealDebrid or another premium service with AudioZ is much cheaper.

In most cases if you need an older file and the links are dead on AudioZ, you can use RuTracker.org to torrent them, use chrome to translate to english as it is a Russian site. You don't need to keep a ratio on this site. In rare cases when RuTracker doesn't have it, I'll just pay a quick $10 to Audionews to activate my downloading and grab a torrent from them.

But to use Audionews as your main source is a waste of money when you can grab it from plenty of other sites as I mentioned for cheaper and/or free.

I joined and downloaded one tutorial from there as thought it would be faster using a torrent. The tutorial wasn't good so I deleted it. Now it wants me to pay to download more lol.
No thanks. Everything I want is available on other sites, for me they had nothing different.

 

@jim if you are downloading big files, it is much faster. If you know what you want, it is much faster. If you don't read the rules, the FAQ, and other information on any site like that, it's easy to end up with a limited account or banned, etc. Just like here. It just happens way faster there because of an asymmetrical connection's transfer speeds.

a tracker lets you cue up the whole day's releases that you want with one extra mouse click per release. you client goes and finds the data for you on other machines instead of clicking web pages. many private trackers have been running 10+ years. some things like trust go a long way when comparing that option with a hosting company "premium" account.

 

I find there's actually a lot of good stuff there for me, as I use a lot of Kontakt libraries, serum presets, and such.

I just pay once a year for VIP membership for 6 months and they double it to a year (end of year special). Hardly anything considering whats available. Download as much as you want...

 

First time I see this thread. I am so stupido!!!!!! So many times try to solve unable to upload any torrents at Audionews. I look up, down, all over for where is problem in torrent client. Never once I think its deliberate for scamming donation! That awful. Tried long while, gave up with terrible ratio. Now have read this here, very happy I no give them any money. This thread is good public service.

 

Thanks. I've used torrents for a while since kazaa and bearshare days so I am familiar with torrents. Lately I just download from a site with clicknupload links, good speed and no premium needed. I don't need much these days so not that fussed with a site and keeping ratios/paying when everything is available for me elsewhere.

Well tbh rutracker is much better than audionews because it's free and doesnt have any limitations apart from speaking russian only and asking: DO YOU HAVE 'LIBRARY NAME'?
Audionews has some wav sample packs that rutracker doesnt have just because people didnt bother uploading it there due to file not being famous or something. And some library repaks. But that's it.

 

I stick with the sister site and be thankful for that

 

Same here. There's way more than enough goodies there to make music with. I'm still working my way through the R2R avalanche over the new year period. They spoil us, they really do!

 

Everything that typically goes down on the sister site is on Audionews. Its not hard to maintain a good ratio. You just have to give a little bit of your time to build it up...

 

I know right lol!! I actually like the model they set up there though. It keeps leechers down. I’d rather be a part of a community that shares & maintains torrent integrity... I don’t have to buy hard drives for storage as much as I used to a few years ago, because I know I can always redownload it at a good speed... there’s always a chance the site could go down, but I’m willing to play that roulette table for now.

PS/ The sister site will always home base though.
