    R.I.P. Chick. Armando Anthony Corea. A musically creative genius for the ages. Not just in the world of Jazz, but in the Universe of Music. His influence will not soon be forgotten. He was truly one of the great musical giants, of whom we are fortunate to have walked among us.

    Man, yesterday I was listening to two records that were my first forays into the work of Chick, An Evening with Herbie Hancock & Chick Corea: In Concert (1978) and the magnificent The Chick Corea Elektric Band (1986) and I realize that one more genius leaves us and that absolutely no one can replace him, be as a person and as a music genius... The past is a sweet memory... and today all is but longing...

    You're so correct. I have a very large collection of Chick's music--including the works you mention. We're definitely going to be a helluva lot poorer without the wealth of his genius. Very sad indeed, brother.
