somehow im suddenly very interested on your optinions on Dune 3

 

Excellent virtual synth with easy to use functions for basic use while offering deeper functionality for programming & sound design.

 

the best in big lead sounds and super saws , this thing is huge and really easy to use

 

Big phat sounds. High quality effects. Phat filters.
Easy to use
Loads quickly. Also low on cpu

superphaser is insane

You can't go wrong with any of the Synapse Audio synths these days. Great company.

Dune 3 is such a flexible and great sounding beast, I'd say one of the top 5 synths currently.

 

Very good but for me is hardcore on the cpu old quadcore can't handle it

 

Ouch. That does not sound right at all, my friend. That's a shame.
Must be your cpu then. Not actually ram related, obviously. It runs fine on dual core with less than a 3 ghz processor, because I've just helped out two friends with it.

 

Dualcore 3.2GHz is better then quadcore 1.6GHz im aware + it is a mobile chip for a laptop but i got it for very cheap for what it

 

Not always. But I said less than 3 ghz. And they were 2.4 and 2.6. So you do sound like you have a problem with that hardware.
1.6 ghz, regardless of ram and cores, isn't enough to run the majority of modern synth plugins anyway.

 

@Smoove compared to previous versions of the synth @SineWave i wish they don't discontinued orion very interesting daw in my opinion

 

? I don't know what you are saying here. An unrelated statement. It doesn't fit with the fact that 1.6 ghz isn't enough to run almost anything nowadays, and I doubt you ran the previous version of Dune on a 1.6 either. Or maybe you could only run that one instance?!

 

@Smoove Grooves the latest version runs hot on my old pentium quadcore what is confusing about?

I still have the first one but might also be interested in an upgrade some day, although I did own 2 for a while but wasn't impressed enough at that time. Probably due to other interests. Hmz I think I'll give it another chance when the time is right.

Dune 3 is one of the best Synths available imo. Very good quality sound and probably one of the lightest CPU third-party synths around. I could probably load 10+ Dune 3 instances for every 1 instance of Diva (also a great synth, but generally much more CPU-heavy than Dune 3).

 

I prefer drag and drop GUI (Vital, Serum, Pigments, Massive X, Hive). It is the only reason why I don't enjoy designing sounds in Dune3. Sonically, it is a beast, low CPU usage and killer features.
But I only need Hive2 and Diva combo for all my synth needs.

 

apparently a lot of people don't use the Oversampling option, it uses very little cpu in *low quality* mode, which is the default mode if you don't change it every time you switch presets. I wish the High Quality option could be turned on globally instead of having to switch it every time.
