As I'm guessing many others here I wish that release works decently. Even if I wouldn't use it because slow PC.

So Live hasn't proper PDC? Seems too serious to be true.

Please, don't change this thread into a request thread. You've been told it will be there once tested.
    Wait patiently.

I have no problems with plugin delay compensation in ableton..even without a dedicated audio interface, there's the option to reduce latency on the monitoring track... get a good cpu and good drivers if you need smaller lag.
@Olymoon it would be great if whoever is testing it could write the results of their findings, when and if it ends up on the sister site, so that people know what to expect and what are the limitations with this version. Many thanks for all what you guys do for us :)

I've been playing it for a while but discussion here has brought up a good point I have been thinking about since it's release: Is this just extender with vr's sx patch or whatever just disguised as pro 11?

At first I saw the midi inserts option available so I thought, okay that's really it. Now I'm gonna have to actually compare it to the legit version I bought on my desktop. Really I think that's the only thing left

use parallel processing. add Aux channel, and put some latency hungry plug-ins (8 instances FF PRO-MB in linear mode. For example)

    And listen.
same goes to: Fl, logic, studio one, pro tools
AFAIK cubase and reaper only can in proper PDC

but again, it’s matter of taste.
Reaper and cubase doesn’t use Gaupless audio engine. And when you add new plug-in, sound will stuck for a moment, to calculate latency.

There is many ways to figure if its really the Pro version.. Can someone try this 2 things..
In Pro version the routing allow you to route groups to channels.. Like if you want to print a mix or something.. Can someone try to create a group bus and open an audio track and route this group to the input of that audio track to record something? If you can`t that is a elements extended.. Also the elastique pitch shift algorithms are only available on the Pro version.. Thanks!

That's the normal Cubase behavior and proves to be running as a Steinberg software does normally

... and wait for the 11.5 version of Cubase as every year

It's an unrealistic scenario for me to record a track with 8 plugins in linear mode on it... Put the latency hungry stuff AFTER you record tracks, and you won't even realize it.. Yes in an ideal world we would all have 0 ms latency with 10 million vsts & effects and maybe a nice victoria secret model waiting for me in the next room when i'm done making music, but sometimes you just gotta be happy with what you have, which is for me, and I think for 98% of the users, more than enough.

You misunderstood me, I mean, just clone any audio/vsti track, and put there latency hungry plug-ins.
And listen. You will hear how time of copy track is shifted.
Why 8 instances of FF PRO-MB? to get obvious result

This is kind of exciting news honestly. I hope it works out long-term because I'm losing my interest in shelving for these upgrades every year especially when every other of them does little for me personally.

Currently at 10.5 and the 11 was kind of a disappointment: was supposed to be heavier on features but it hasn't had much that I would be excited about. The only exciting thing was the midi CC lanes having bezier curves and then couple others were marginally useful. Every update I feel like I have to pay for a bunch of shit I don't need just to keep it up to date. Like for instance the new sample sets: I really, really don't need new sample sets.

Especially good if the latency compensation works properly this time around. And even better if we get access to Nuendo somehow - another thing that has no value to me with one significant exception: the loudness track. But I ain't paying for the upgrade just to have a loudness track.

Steinberg dropped from supporting 32bit plugins, that's the "some reason". If you want 32bit plugins to work, you have to use jbridge just like you have to do with many other DAW's. And for instance, while FL Studio has its internal bridge to support 32bit plugins, it's much buggier than jbridge. If your plugin is blacklisted despite being 64bit, then that happens because it crashed Cubase during initialization - that's when Cubase adds the plugins automatically to the blacklist.

More importantly, it's 2021. If you still have plugins that are only 32bit, you should consider replacing them with something else. We do not live in the Atari times anymore (though Atari times weren't 32bit either, but you know, don't live in the past)

Why cant he use 32bit plugins if he works with them?
People still use tape today with great success.
And what about those pre-atari analog synths? Wet dream of every ITB producer.
