Greetings. I am completely new to using MIDI instruments in my DAW and I have a basic concept question about toontrack's EZkeys.

I have one "instrument" and that is the grand piano.

My question is about additional MIDI packs. Is a MIDI pack just another set of stylistic playing that can be loaded into the instrument? In other words, are the sounds produced with the added MIDI pack dependent and limited to the base sounds of the instrument that I have and its few variable tonal sounds?

So if I bought a synth/pop type MIDI pack, to make it sound more authentic, I might have to buy another type of EZkeys instrument to access more authentic sounds?

Do I have this concept correct?

    Thanks for bringing up junior!

I think you have it right.
The midi files are all the information about what notes are played and how. (Stylistic playing)
The actual tones are generated by whatever instrument you have selected.

But "I think therefore I am" (Cogito ergo sum)

Are mods now annihilating members? :dunno:
Seems a bit harsh to me. :winker:

It was No Avenger's way to say "no doubt, you are right"
As in many languages writing " I think" in the beginning of a sentence, implies a doubt.
