    HI,

Despite my best efforts I couldn't get Fabfilter Pro-Q's match EQ feature to be able to record audio from iZotope RX 8. It returns that audio never passed through the plugin although when I process the audio through the plugin, it does make apply the changes.

Although I don't have any hopes but maybe someone has any ideas to get this to work. This is kind of important.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks!!

Edit: Or anyone has any alternate suggestions I could try. Thanks!

    the pro-q doesnt record?!?
youre working in a daw? eg ableton doesnt stream the rx 8's audio, youve to edit the sample and import back into ableton. kind of automatic, but not like ara streaming!
what do you do, in which program?

Pro-Q doesn't necessarily need a SC to record the stream, at least that's what it says on the tin. Instead of exporting/importing the audio back & forth, I figured I could simply feed the audio to FF and work from there.

Thank you for the reaction though.

RX 8 has a built in module called EQ match but sucks. I'm thinking it's just makes an educated guess and draws the curve and does nothing besides that plus you can't adjust any frequencies like you would in an EQ. FF gives you that capability.

:woot: You eihter need to rephrase or explain what exactly you're doing (routing, DAW, purpose) because, as @thomas78 said, this makes no sense.

Okay so rephrasing. How to get the best EQ match in RX 8 ? In RX because using it in conjunction with the Ambiance match and loudness modules. I'm unaware of these combined functionalities built into an stanalone app/daw/plugin suite.

Thanks for the input. I was trying to feed audio to FF sequentially for it to compare but it just doesn't record any streams to begin with and returns with "no audio passed through plugin"

If I remember correctly it was way easier with Ozone Eq5. @junh1024 's link is actually about izotope (eq) 5. You could easily save "eq profile" presets. Here's my target, here's another, here's my source, here's three more. Make the profile of them all and then you can EQ match any combination. For some reason they removed that feature.

My point is any plugin with EQ matching can use the SC for it. But using "eq profile" presets is really useful.

Nowadays the best to work with for me is Meldaproduction MFreeFormEq (and pretty much all its EQs). You can save profile presets and even save the EQ matchings as a wav IR which is REALLY cool.

Fabfilter's also works fine but it's not as intuitive to me. Haven't tried latest versions though.

I've heard about Melda's MAutoEQ being able to do it but never tried it as I heard someone saying it's not precise enough but not that you've mentioned it and I trust your judgement, I gave it a try and it works well, far better than the stock EQ Match module of RX or the one in Ozone 9. iZotope really needs to work on that one.

    Thank you Xupito.

There's also T-RackS Master Match which works wonders but for some unknown reason it's trimming a fraction of spectrum from the begining of my tracks and not just this plugin but all the plugins from the suite. Anyways this is resolved now, thread can be closed. Many thanks to all the people who posted in the thread and moderators.

I see no reason to close it, but you could rate @Xupito's post 'Best Answer'.
