I'm switching from Mojave to Catalina. Doing a clean install, starting from scratch. As everybody I was importing libs using Kontakt 5.6 but it's not opening in Catalina. How can I add libraries ?

You need to make 5.6.0 run in order to add libraries. We need more information in order to help you.
Did it install without incident on the Catalina machine?
Did you restart the Mac after installation?
What is the error message you receive?

In general, either restarting, or quarantining or code-signing the app will resolve most issues on Catalina.

No, Kontakt 5.6 installation failed. I always get "an error occured" during installation. Also I saw on web that Catalina supports only 5.6.8 Kontakt version. Is it true ? Could you run 5.6 on Catalina ? Are there de-quarantine app and code signing app available for Catalina ? thank you for your help

 

I run 5.6.0 on Catalina, and also on a new M1 Mac Mini running Big Sur. So it definitely works. However, the installer is another question entirely, as that installer doesn't comply with Apple's newest security standards. Since I don't have a 5.6x installer at all, I did a manual install on my M1, copying the pieces directly into the proper locations.
Before going to that length, it's always worth trying the simple step of going to your Security & Privacy Settings and clicking "Allow apps downloaded: from Anywhere". That may or may not work, but it's easy enough to try. Also, I've found that some old installers will end with a message that "something went wrong", when in fact it worked fine, so it's worth having a look to see if the app is actually installed. If it did, then fixing the permissions is the next step.

 

There is nothing to install with Kontakt 5.6.x, just copy the k'ed standalone to your drive and run.

 

Ok thanks guys ! I was using a 5.6.6 version that wasn't installing/opening on Catalina. I just copied as suggested above a 5.6.5 standalone k and it's working fine !
