It's already been mentioned twice already but Accousonus - Rhymiq does the job beautifully.

im due for tutorials but meanwhile, if you want to try out in reaper.. search for this action in reaper.. make it a new toolbar to easy experiment things out.. i think the action names are self expla-notory to get the ideas..

    .. adjust grid by 2
    .. adjust grid by 1/2
    .. split item by grid
.. xenaxious shuffle <-- this will randomize the item position :shalom:

This.... this, Futurewine.... is INSANELY useful. and fun as hell. I did some keyboard shortcuts for "Split items at timeline grid", and "Shuffle order of selected items (keep relative positions)" and man, that was fun. Already had toolbar icons for Adjust Grid by 1/2 and x2.

Completely useful and fun. Nice work, friend.

@audiofannn @grrrr you're welcome guys. reaper is almost fully customizable in its workflow and tasks. you can automate almost everything like quick save/pack all the chops in a click, for example. the way to do it always start with learning the step to do while you do it manually, and then search for- and turn it into custom actions. something like that:shalom: happy experimenting and fun reaper time

@Futurewine Very cool stuff. Love it.
Surprised no one's mentioned Ableton's Simpler.

Play around with the Slice By, Division, Playback, Preserve, Mode and Warp modes and you get exponentially more options.
The half-time, double-time warp is awesome for fills especially if its a synth or bass line.
Best thing is you can layer drumlines. Use the stock Random, Arp and Scale devices or a third party seq and mute notes.

This is one of my favorite things to use Push for.

Do you know a good tutorial to use it like that ? I've found this one on Youtube but I'm looking for something more basic, simpler :winker:

Cool those two mentions @ Futurez and @ Pinkz, tho i don't use reaper, that from ableton reminds something on chopping vocals but yeah same. very cool both

OP while i was at it. so all you need is the SuppaTriggah plugin free only 32bits, this file here was made at Live 9 (32bit) but should open just fine on recent versions and i did a little rack presete already for try

    Capture.PNG

Theres no plugin interface, just these controls.

@Lou Ulfark I remember that tutorial. Do what he does but get rid of all the devices in front of the Simpler except one Arp. Play around and get a feel for it, then start adding your own devices.
Add Velocity devices for adding more dynamics

Would this also be possible with midi in reaper? What's a great midi editor in Reaper?
    Sorry bit off topic

i think we can. i'll try experiment that out when time comes @grrrr . with ure video as reference.

not sure what you mean with great midi editor in Reaper, but, its editor can be customized to our needs.. if not all round at least it can be tailored with toolbar and custom actions as helper tools..
