If do so, what's your rig?

A MBP - OS on SSD, extra SSD installed for Kontakt libraries.
    An interface.
    Many keyboard controllers.
Many sustain pedals and expression pedals.
    Been doing it 30 years.
My hardware keys and synths go into my interface and are processed in the MBP before coming back out.
I can send the drummer a click.

Always carry analogue cables just in case something was damaged in transit. Find out in soundcheck!
I also have a spare, older MacBook running in tandem as a stand by just in case.
I can just switch over in the host software, but I've never needed to.

Please explain why you think it matters.
Any MBP will run any of the hosts. I've tried them all, they all work.
How can I tell you all my go-to plugins and fx? And of what use is it to you?
    Any MIDI controller will do.
    Any interface will do.
Your requirements, whatever they are, are different to mine.
I answered as to what I understood by "rig".
Software is a totally different subject.
And is as subjective as hardware choices.
Plus it's all related to budget.
Any and all plugins you want!
Do you want to sound like your recordings or not?! haha.

Yes. When I played with my duo: we used to have a boss dr-05 drum machine for drums and programmed synths and keys (general midi stuff - basic and terrible lol), but in 2015 we started using a laptop onstage to replace it. So, it was like that: I played guitar, the other guy sang and played bass in some songs, or synth solos in others. And the drums and other stuff (synths and keys) was programmed in ableton live lite (I use mainly synth1, and Tyrell6 for mono leads and basses). We used a korg microkey as controller.

PS: it's important to keep cpu light to avoid problems (well, that's my opinion).

    woo, you sound touchy...

it's just curiosity for comparing things and not all hardware and software are the same

@reignerrr I updated my first response a bit for you.

If you seriously are going to outlay some money on keyboard controllers and an interface and a host (in this lockdown...), then I would rather chat with you via Inbox as after something else that happened here at AS earlier, I don't want to be shot down for revealing my gear, budget, or anything else about me.
    I hope you understand.

Then you are not hearing properly.
Please think before you make such wrong judgements. It's all a reflection.
This is not "touchy". It is a question.
Which you didn't answer really. So I can't really help you can I?
I've already told you those factors are irrelevant imo, so I can't say anything else if you don't believe me.
All you need to do now is go and find the best thread on keyboard controllers, the best thread on interfaces, and the best thread on host software.
    And then make your choices.
I'd even have to know your genre for this! C'mon, buddy. Be real.

MBP 2018 maxed out. Apollo 8XP. Rd2000 lower board. Crumar Mojo Classic upper board(s). Banshee talk box for getting my Troutman on (black people love that damn thing lol). As for software - Anything and everything from the sister site. Though I’ve bought a lot of software too. Synapse Audio Obbsession, Repro 5, Legend, UVI Ravenscroft is the best fucking piano for live. Nothing can touch that piano live on stage in the sample world. Perfect balance of beef & brightness. Also has real staccatos!!!
