essentially regular people choose to use their mass and support projects they see as good, that alarms the giants in a system that is supposed to only work around greed. but suddenly regular people can bust trends not because of being very rich but simply by brute force, by being many. interesting

Anyone who recommended them in this thread, is trying to scam you :)

I think you don't need it for Robin hood.

Now as far as the Game Stock goes, This is what the rich investors do all the time to the lower income investors.
They buy stocks and drive it up then as a group dump them.
So the rich to me just got a good dose of their own medicine and they didn't like it.
So do I feel bad for them, NO!!!!!!

Anyone with half a brain cell will tell you not to invest what you can't afford to lose.
While there are hedge funds jumping on this with new short positions & some retail investors trying to make money on this (who will sell if/when the price reaches $420.69, $500, $1000, $2000 etc), there are a TON of people who are buying and holding long, as a middle finger to hedge funds that took short positions when the price was $4 a share. Those firms (Melvin) are fucked. Citadel will be next if this keeps up. It may have an upward cascading effect if something doesn't change. I will not sell GME if the price drops to zero, and I will not sell if the price goes over $1000. Disclaimer: This is not financial advice, I am a jazz pianist/glitchpop producer. I just like the stock :)

uh no? It's not a scam. It doesn't mean that if you buy GME stock you'll get 1000% profit guaranteed either. When I invest I always count with not seeing this money again, that's why I invest only what can afford to lose. If it turns profit it is then a sweet surprise. GME is about sending the message to hedge funds and bleeding them dry. What they did was arrogant and disgusting and they deserve that one smooth brain in the basement discovered this flaw and with retail they're gonna punish them for it. Up to 140% of the total float was shorted. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that's a recipe for disaster. Similar situation happened 2008ish with VW stock, which skyrocketed to 36.000, only that time the retail was not involved and it wasn't even shorted so heavily. This situation is also different because now for many people the financial profit isn't primary goal - a lot of people simply don't care and will hold no matter what, as long as the funds are having massive losses from the naked shorts. GME situation is unique, and it will never happen again (Dr. M. Burry said so himself), other stocks (maybe except AMC that is also heavily shorted) people are mass buying like BB are not the same case, and I fear a lot of the people will get burned from these

This situation with stocks like gme and amc is pretty unique. Although, these stocks are just straight up pump and dump. What does that mean? Yeah, exactly. There will come a day that it will totally crash to like zero, and a lot of people will end up with tears in the end eventually, because they aren't experienced and knowledgeable. Investing in these pump and dump stocks is really risky at the moment. It's like an airplane, but they can't be flying forever.

Nah, Melvin already got bailed out by Citadel. Additionally, people should be aware that you can't beat these firms forever. They will fight back at one point, but then even more powerful. My advice is, just stay away from these pump and dump stocks.

They have been fighting back all along, and pulled some crazy illegal shit this week to drive the price down, which only worked temporarily.
I agree with the above poster who said this situation is similar to what happened with VW in 2008.
Melvin got bailed out for 2.8 billion. But they are losing billions DAILY in interest rates because they shorted the stock when it was $4. January report that just came out indicates they have already lost 53% total assets. They are scrambling & trying to get other big capital to back them. The firms shorting the stock now are more likely to profit but the guys who shorted at $4 are hemmoraging money & will likely go bust. At the moment this does look like it will be a long game but the reality IS that over 100% of the stock is shorted, so the short sellers HAVE to buy at current market rate when their call is up. For reference, the current situation with Melvin having to buy stock at current market value is from when they shorted the stock 16 months ago, in the $4 range. What makes it difficult for them is they are OBLIGATED to buy back the stock, but if no one is selling, what are they going to do? It's going to make the price skyrocket unless something major changes. Of course there are less risky ways for the average joe to invest money, buy at your own risk! Even expect to lose the money.

Anyone who calls that GME situation a regular pump and dump should go read a bit more. I agree with most posters on that last thread page, and i'll add that at this point GME became more of a statement than an investment.

Stocks are what slaves were put in. And into bonds.
Apart from one country in Europe, all other countries where your 'Informant' parent registers you and you get a birth certificate and then belong to the system...are touting our individual worth on the stock market.
Also, that piece of paper can physically represent you in court without your presence.
    As you were.

Finally a reasonable comment. The guy calling us scammers was exceptionally amusing.

Make your own, informed, decisions. Don't trust the mainstream media. Enjoy your gains from GME (planning my next studio upgrades right now).

Oh, yeah, absolutely. I am also pretty sure they are still in here though. What CNBC says is fake news. And now they are trying to get some pressure away from gme by pulling out silver, hahaha. Although, Melvin isn't really that stupid either. I am sure they are already have been started to hedge. Nah, I doubt if they are still losing. And even then they will make that loss back in a matter of time anyway. The markets is one straight up favoritism.

Well, it really is. They are having no real fundamentals or catalysts which should support their price. Anyone who is smart enough will not spend money in gme on this clearly over exaggerated and expensive price. You're just asking to get yourself into troubles.

It's not a vulgar pump and dump, it's a statement, if i make money out of it great, if not i'm happy i had my small part in making a bunch of well-offs sweat their pants and lose billions just by holding a useless position, it's quite a satisfying way to lose money if i do.

Yeah, well, at least they deserved it. They have been stealing and scamming money from regular people for years.
