That's the thing. Now this is a contrived example, I know, but... let's say I need a guitar to complete a track I'm working on now. I borrow/loan one for a month, complete my track and I'm happy. Now... I need to revisit this track ten years from now on and the luthier I got the temp guitar from has moved on or gone bankrupt whatever. I don't need the exact same guitar to rerecord some parts. It won't be the same but I still can. With software this isn't so, you need the exact same software to do this. If the company is gone, then so are your projects.
Good beginning for a song lyrics mate ok, David Bowie wrote it but anyways... it's a quite 70ies protest song. What proves it has been the same forever. Last edited: Jan 27, 2021
Reason was very well know when it was pirated Now it is well protected, NOBODY cares Good job !!! Whatever the model : they are dead And they are not the only one ...
Whats the fuzz? They introduced sub model for people with less money, but you can still buy it to own.
serious? lol. what a coincidence then, i didnt now that. but yeah, it has being pretty much the same for ever but, before there was enough people who felt they could see themselves as "winners" turning a blind eye to others suffering but the chickens have come home to roast, and today only very few can excuse the mess.
Yes. But for how long? And why do we get Reason VST-rack as plugin to use in other DAW:s, and subscription model, when it's never been asked for? But never VST3 support, never MIDI Routing. Instead we get "sample packs" for $20 a month.
Yes, but this was exactly the same with Adobe, Autodesk (I've been through both) and some others. I think you won't be able to buy a permanent license within two years.
20$ a month are they nuts? will it be yours after 2 year then? and with free upgrades forever? Last edited: Jan 27, 2021
Yes, I know. For half the cost of a lifetime upgradeable fully working DAW (FL Studio), I can buy another VST to be able to run my VST's in the DAW I bought. Not a good deal either.
No, no rent to own. Stop renting = unable to play/work on songs that you made with stuff that was rented, even though you rented for 10 years and own a copy of Reason from before.
Also all add on shit is not included what a shitty company hope they rut in hell. I dont believe in such nonsens but it was the best phrase i could think of. Hmm how about hope they die in lots of pain in many years aswell.
Are you sure about that? It's what drew me to it. Anyhoo, Roland Cloud did that. It's not like there are no decent Roland emulations out there available without a subscription. And it's already cracked. They offered two lifetime keys when you subscribe to their high-end plans a month ago. They offer them, but the price is kinda ridiculous. Plugin Alliance's model is nice in the way that they give you a voucher for what you pay for to buy permanent licenses, regular discounts for permanent licenses from time to time, and loyalty discount coupons. So you can buy the ones you need and eventually cancel your subscription. I fear Native Instruments is going towards that route. All that these companies do is encourage more piracy and reverse engineering, at least for Windows users. Last edited by a moderator: Jan 29, 2021
Yes. I'm sure of it. Before the release of a Reason Rack VST, there was never any talk or hopes about this. Most of us acctually use the DAW we bought, which is Reason! However, I DO understand that it could be interresting of users from other DAW:s, or for Reason users that have switched to other DAW:s because they grew tired of something/alot in Reason. I'm really a Reason fanboy. Wen't straight from Fasttracker II/Madtracker to Reason 1.0. Paid for 4 upgrades, and suite. So I'm not here because I want to bring Reason down. I just want it to stop falling away from all other DAW:s.
So ... Easy way to have Reason and everything is there as a trial forever . 1 You will need a free mail address (protonmail.com) will do just fine . 2 Register to Reason with this new mail address 3 Download all you want and use it for one month 4 Make a new email address and register again to Reason for another month . 5 Repeat from point 3 ... It seems complicated but if you really want it , worth to try and best of all , no crack need it ... This is my contribution to audio scene ...
Here's the thing: until they released the plugin capability, I used Europa (because it was a plugin) and I use other DAW's (Logic/Garageband on Mac and FL Studio on WIN) and when the plugin capability was announced, I tried it and bought the Suite. Reason was something my friends use and they love it, but it was not for me at that time. I understand your anger and frustration because subscription models for the most part (maybe PA would be an exception in my experience?) suck. Then again, the street always finds a workaround. Never fell in love with Reason, I tried the early beta releases and recently 11 but it just doesn't wow me. I miss rebirth though
