Reverb is my absolute winner in any FX comparisons. Every reverb is my favorite. As humans, they are a little bit different then others. Ecery reverb has its own personality. I love to listen all kinds of revrbes and I know from listening their character.
Valhalla is probably the most effective reverb but it has a distinctive signature. I know when you're using Valhalla.

My favorite is BX20 Spring Reverb by Cupwise for Nebula4. also some of the nebula plates and room are one of the best and most realistic but I need to upgrade my computer soon lol

I love Valhalla, B2, Aether etc. but the ones I always go for are Seventh Heaven (small one), Blackhole and Pro-R.

I'll leave this reverb showcase of Marc Daniel Nelson here, lucky coincidence bumping into that right after seeing the discussion for the first time :)

I have stuck my big toe into the TC Electronic VSS3 Native to test the water and have found it to edge into one of my favorites next to the Lexicon sisters, the fab Fab Pro-R and the gang known as Valhalla. If I still had Waves installed I would also add their H-Reverb.

    It is a moving target
    And I've a shaky hand
    I flutter as a butterfly

    Back and forth
    From brand to brand

I like FabFilter Pro-R and the Valhalla stuff a lot, those get used 98% of the time in my projects nowadays.

This is def an interesting thread!
I guess the right reverb depends on genre , and what sound to achieve.
I‘m not indepth with reverbs yet, although i‘m into musicmaking for quite a long time, but never took the time to really go into it.
I got the obvious valhalla stuff in use, and the loooong shimmerreverbs are impressive, i‘m not totally convinced on vvv and the others from v, bit metallic and not lush enough. Maybe i should start to eq the reverbsends again.
Tried the reverberate 2 with bricasti ir , like some1 in here stated before, def got flavour , have yet to play with it more.
The Fabfilter Pro-R sounds pretty convincing, actually my goto, got a more silky sound than the Valhallas imho.
What else, the ik sunset sound studio reverb was interesting, have to recheck for its tone & use.
And this thread convinced me to try out the lexicon pcm stuff & the neoverb. Lets see what fits best. I‘m into electronic music (on the dubby side of things).

btw, i tend to take of reverbs on softsynth presets and put on my own plugin reverb. But is that always necesarry, if it fits & theres not a need for automation modulation? Just curious.

And i yet have to try the legend fx as insert, heard it would sound great on synths.

Osx here, so not possible for severall reasons to try other liquidsonics stuff, the cinematic & 7th h i bet are amazing.
Some1 I’m in contact with loves his eventide sp2016 plugin.

Some reverbs have better options than others. some verbs with identical settings sound different.
Valhalla and Lexicon LXP series are good for non-convolution verbs. Nebula and Altiverb are good convolution verbs.

Each to their own. It also depends on the type of music and the instruments being used and how they were recorded, very much so.
Personally - What works great for acoustic instruments in a tight room won't work for a recording in a big hall and what works for synths may not work for most acoustic instruments. The default warmth of the verb determines my choices but probably not for others.

  18. I forget how many I have and end up using the same 3 or 4. I work the drum bus first with the Softube Tsar, then space for specific instruments with UA EMT 250 and a lush vocal verb courtesy Waves Abbey Road Plates. If needed for specific widening one of the wide spaces in the UA RMX Expanded. By then everything is awash with reverb and I have to start over.

new here, I love Eventide blackhole and Fabfilter's verb, so much flexibility and unlimited possibilities.
I do like Lexicon as well for their distinct sound, but Eventide wins on verbs for me in general.
