    Hi,
Can anyone point me towards plugins that replicate these kind of typical vintage funk synth sounds?
You can click virtually on any track of THIS BAND on soundcloud to get the idea.
    Thanks!

Bass : MiniMoog (Plugin: The Legend / Monark / Minimonsta...)
Drums : Linn LM-1 or LinnDrum (Plugin: Aly James Lab's VPROM)
Synths : ?... Hard to say... (at least for my old ears... :(). May be Prophet 5, Korg MS-20, Jupiter-8... (Plugin: Korg Collection's MS-20, Roland VS JUPITER-8, u-he REPRO 1/5...)

Thx, just listening to some demos of U-he, does sound promising! I'm guessing that's for the MiniMoog emulation? They aren't very explicit about what it is they are emulating and I'm no expert so, excuse my ignorance! :dunno:

    perfect list.. :like:

for drums i would add "Arturia Spark VDM": https://www.arturia.com/spark-vdm/overview
for synths i would add one of my favorites besides those mentioned above: SonicProjects OP-X PRO-II http://www.sonicprojects.ch/opxpro2/description.html
edit: a nice free synth https://www.discodsp.com/obxd/#home (the desktop version ist free to use for non-commercial stuff)

Video of two nice funk remakes made with the OP-X (except drums)

I forgot these two gems

u-he REPRO 1/5 emulate the Sequential Circuits Pro One and Prophet 5. MiniMoog is emulated by The Legend from Synapse Audio, Monark from Native Instruments (needs Reaktor) and Minimonsta from GForce Software.

The bass sounds like a minimonsta preset.

This has to be a Euro attempt at some Minneapolis Funk lol... If you’re looking for the synths used by the originators of this style just look up Prince, The Time, Dr. Fink & Jam & Lewis’s rigs... Lots of Oberheim, Moog, Sequencial & Arp strings all over their stuff... THE clap these guys tried to emulate I assume is the Zapp & Roger/Parliament clap which was a Clap Trap - Aly James makes a spot on recreation. For the Troutman talkbox carrier tone use Arturia’s DX7 or Dexed with the HardBrass patch.

Nice to see some people who know The Funk here!
Good call on The Legend. I love it and bought it; it's my go-to.
Also bought Obsession. Loving that for this type of funk.
Aly James VPROM all the way!
Tried Arturia Spark a while back, nice drum machine, especially when paired with the hardware, but would still rather use anything else for Linn.
Definitely Oberheim synths on a lot of the early Prince sound.
Lisa has talked about this a few times recently, and I think one of us here posted the link to one of them.

Greets to all the funky fam here. I only have to add one single thing, by the words of none other than the Godfather himself G.Clinton: "If it doesn't have a (Mini)Moog, it ain't funk".
PS: You guys are too harsh on the posted band from the op. I had never heard of 'em, although totally reminiscent of Zapp, they have some sweet choonz and are trying hard.

I'm sooo proud nobody here posted any Berkley Funk (Snarky Puppy, DOMI, Jacob Collier or Esperanza Spalding).. That sh$t is all talk talk talk talk talk like a run-on sentence. “IF YOU FAKE THE FUNK YOUR NOSE WILL GROW”.
