What do you mean? My daw reads from one vst folder path I think. I can have it read the vst from an external hard drive instead? Or do you mean activate it from an external drive? Sorry if I misunderstood completely.

You serious? How can you not know what a bass amp does? You know what a guitar amp does right? Same thing. The name itself tells you what it does. It amplifies the sound of the bass, or the guitar, etc.
