Buy this one discounted, really worth the spent. Don't really understand why such a drastic rise in price though, I don't think I've ever seen that before for any plugin....I bought it when N4 came out, already had a few AA stuffs so I got it really cheap, really love this one, although acquas are way more user friendly. Some libraries are must have.

I don't understand the hate to be honest. OK I don't know the full extent of the story, but I did see him post a lengthy response in a thread on here, he gave a ton of explanations about his programming and about the technical side of it. He just got ignored in that thread, as if he never posted in there. I don't think the characterization of him that you put up here is accurate or even appropriate.

It’s a CPU hog, makes a gnat fart of a difference compared to any other well designed plugin emulation... People will feel justified saying it’s head and shoulders above other plugins just because they see famous mix engineers using it. Truth is those mix engineers could get the same results with almost any other plugin. One thing this BS pandemic has allowed is for more pros to live stream while they produce & they’ve been pretty frank about “special sauce” plugins... Endorsee whore engineers like CLA I think are to blame for passing out the Kool-Aid.

That Giancarlo guy sounds like an elistist douchebag.

What a ridiculous price for a convolution engine. Nebula is not that complicated, dynamic and special.
As if sampled convolution is the future, its a very limited concept!

This is what you sheep users get for letting him adopt his "Aquarius" server based COMPLETE CONTROL over you,
cos you faun over the latest impulses from an old hardware comp with a fancy GUI (imo they make plastic k-pop wet dream ugly GUIs)
Telling yourselves to give up everything you have because its more "convenient" to let someone else take care of it and take payment for it.

If something costs 299 USD, it doesn't mean it is WORTH 299 USD. Even more when you see 50+% discounts on the regular price, that shows the real value of the product is deeply below the regular price (wink Waves :)). Also, this is probably a first time I'm seeing a software price to go up rather than down with no new features added, AA guys are really "special".

I can't take seriously a company that is trying to profile itself as a Holy Grail of audio emulations aimed at professionals, if their plugin manager looks like MacOS from 2005, and works even worse.

Maybe you should consider upgrading your old amigatosh to something with at least dual cpus because aquarius works great 99% of the time.

If you ever tried pushing 100hz on the aquamarine eq youd see their eqs sound nothing like the algo competition, its different kind of EQs, tracks come to life, they push energy in a different way, unexpected, non linear, a bit chaotic, like the real gear.

I haven't seen any famous mixing engineers use AA tech. I did use algo plugs for 14 years now (and believe me I tried everything there is to try), and now use 90% AA, Alexb, Tim & TimC stuff because, to my ears, it is thát much better.

Recently compared TimP's L-Bus V2 with algo SSL-G comps, they have absolutely no game in comparison. My friend who did not know about this tech was stunned by the difference in depth and life of the sound.

I'm just sharing my story, not trying to convince anyone because it doesn't matter. I'm so glad I looked past the years and years of garbage posts about AA, trialled it myself and finally having tech that brings my mixes alive. I don't care about CPU or freezing tracks, I care about the best tech, and to my ears, it is this. :)

I don't know how did you conclude I have "old amigatosh", but maybe you just have problems properly reading sentences when you're upset that people are targeting your Holy Grail of mixing :dunno:

I have i7 8-cores and I generally don't have CPU issues, so sorry. I was rather pointing out how ugly and dated the plugin manager looks like, and that this not not how 2020 software looks like.

I love the super beautiful GUI of Acustica plugin. Even tho I just have it in bypass mode because my clients love it too.

I personally have tried and tested everything from UAD, Slate, Waves, Softube etc and the works, including Acustica Audios acqua plugins and in particular Nebula 4 with TimP & AlexB addons. Quite easily TimP has the best compressors out of all them and AlexB consoles are second to none. In combination with all the other great Nebula tools available Henry Olonga, Cupwise, AITB etc. You really have an analog in the box tool with Nebula. I was lucky to buy it at 60% discount, but I would gladly pay the full price for it. Anyone who trashes it is probably trying to run these high CPU usage plugins with a duo core macbook pro. In that case stick to UAD where a hardware unit would do all the work. On the other hand my 2700x Ryzen steamrolls 100+ channel projects with lots of AA Acqua and N4 plugins being used without ever pushing my projects in Ableton 10 over 50% CPU usage.

If you have to rely on AA tech to improve your mixes maybe you are not using the right (algo) tools or not using the tools in the right way. I spent way too much money on AA products than I began to do controlled listening tests and comparisons (sometimes with help from vst analyzer/plugin doctor to better understand what certain things were doing to my mixes)and I discovered that I could reach better results with algos without clogging my CPU and drives for some fancy GUIs and some harmonic distortion (and some nasty and not so easy to identify audible bugs). Some stock plugins and some other (carefully choosen) vsts from various developers is all I need to achieve my mixing goals. As always YMMV.
