Serato Sample is a pretty handy tool.

However, the real magic is learning to manipulate samples to taste.

Just jokes, brother... Obviously my sarcasm didn't translate. Dilla is a goat and RX8 isn't a cheat code lol. All in good fun.

It's called crate digging for a reason...
From my personal experience, the best it's hit old record shops and search for the most dusty ones that may have lost in a corner, or asking for those old records that nobody wants no more

Charity shops used to be good to trawl through as well (back in my Amiga Technosound Turbo days). The most unlikely looking records could often contain a hidden gem. Takes a lot of time and effort to go down that path though. I did that for sample spotting, as much as looking for new samples. I'm sure there will be a few archives of breaks/samples from old vinyl now, for convenience, but you're missing half the fun of finding the gem that way.

Personal preference, I'd always want to chop / mangle any samples Id' like and make them into my own sound, otherwise I'd feel lazy and that I was just playing someone else's work.

To me crate digging means finding music I've never heard of. I can't relate to any of the things mentioned

I'd recommend using full-rate audio from CD or a vinyl rip, rather than lossy-compressed Spotify rips.
