I love IK Multimedia T-Racks & MixBox. Brainworx & Fabfilter most.

if any of you haven't used the Waves Studiorack, I suggest to try it, especially for vocal, just create all your crazy chain, all different kind of tempo based delays in there and save it. the next project just load it then try one by one.(of course you can then decide to use your favorite boutique delay or reverbs after that). super handy, it will speed up the workflow and skip all the hassle with the parallel busses, sends and whatnot. especially if your workflow starts with getting the rough mix of vocals and few important instruments to "set the mood" before processing the drums and percussion, like i do. have a nice day.

Can't (almost?) all DAWs save plugin chains? At least in Reaper I can save any combination of plugins as a chain. I see no need to do this with Studiorack, VMR, or Infinity Strip.

Ok, perhaps a tidy bit OT, that's all...
Ain't that right, another productive answer for once... now you can ban me Noa
Ok let's draw a line here. You may be a mighty mod now but that's still cheating. Ban you...:lmao:

My "mixing suite" actually consists of chosen DMG, Valhalla, Voxengo, Fabfilter, Klanghelm plugins. But there's always some PSP, ToneBoosters, TC Electronic, u-he, Lexicon, Softube, Relab... just off the top of my head.

I do prefer plugins low on CPU, stable, with decent oversampling, and avoid hardware lookalike plugins, unless they sound really good. Always compare with your eyes closed, or do a blind test. You will be surprised by what you prefer, at least in some cases.

    Cheers!

That's my case. Well, even more, since I don't know any hardware.
So even when consulting with people who knows about good hardware emulations... it's like "well Xup, I recommend you Softube for that compressor. If you like Weiis compressor, that is. If you like the Abbey-Road whatever one, go for the Waves".
And I'm like my avatar... like "I don't have a freaking clue. I'd better redownload DMG plugins"

That example is actually a true fact, I asked premod @No Avenger . You know, when he was still cool and not noblesse... :lmao:

    Softube!

Followed by PA/BX stuff (esp those done by Rey Dratwa)

Acustica Audio/Nebula is overhyped (figuritively and audibly) and makes your mixes sound plastic and fake when you use too many. Given all their other issues and CPU drain I avoid them entirely now (after being fooled by them for a while in the past). People running at 44.k comparing OLD algo plugs to nebula often prefer nebula, wise people running at 88.2 or 96k know modern algo plugs sound and work better than nebula. Nebula is now outmoded because of better CPU power available for algo and now wise people realise 44k isn't wise for PLUG-INS.

yes I agree, but the multi-band splits combined with parallel splits and another multiband inside the parallel split, and parallel somemore. That is what I mean by crazy lol. Doable in Reaper but need busses and few other channel though but is it save-able ? Funny you mentioned Reaper, because I use this setup in Reaper because with I couldn't find the way to do it in there inside 1 track. These kinda chains come from the Ableton Live (Effects/Instruments) Racks feature, that I love soooo much. Maybe Im too lazy to find the workaround in Reaper. Haha.

One more thing, there is at least one person pointed out (in YouTube) about the multiband splits in StudioRack don't cancel each other (more complicated, but dont want to bore anyone with details) means the splits aren't really linear after the new GUI updates. Not sure if Waves already fixed it or not.

Correct, but my point wasn't about that, Marquis Fartiger the Mob.
Check your PM where I can properly insult... I mean reply you. Rest of you guys, assume I'm insulting him pretty badly. Besides he's still in his rite of passage (aka perfect excuse to mess with him very badly) for us friends. I mean ex friends.

Nothing.. absolutely nothing, I corrected it, it was a mistake
..and it has nothing to do with the fact that I'll need some help from your side in the near future (no, it's not bout the Penthouse pass). I'll PM you... err, that is:
..if your account will still be available

I'm in a phase right now where I am forsaking all of my go-to algo plugs for Acqua convolution bliss... but I think the actual difference is minimal and I'm actually just f**king with my workflow by using all these Acustica plugs and introducing a metric ass-ton of latency and bugs into my sessions. I think AA's tech is definitely the future, but it might be another company that finally creates something as user-friendly as algos. IK's Tape emus are almost there, if they didn't use 1/4th of my CPU with one instance sitting on the 2bus :dunno:
