Best bet is to try the 12.5 edition as even on on Avid forums OS X is having the same issues

"PT 12 glitchy graphics in Yosemite just like PT11"
note this keeps coming up a lot!! So the same for the Windows version.

I personally do not use Protools and sway away from that bloated application.
I mostly use Reaper and Magix Sequoia.

Will check out the 12.5 Protools and look for any graphics options on it.
Thanks for posting the info for the processes and CPU.

The most annoying thing is playback delay. I do lots of editing and play back delay is a pain!
    It is even reported here.
My video engine is disabled. Also I am just talking about Audio editing not video.
    The same report over here
My problem is I am not using Video, even when playing audio I have delay in playback(Almost a second)

true but only due to the fact the os is optimized! in fact you can get better pcs than macs, more manufacturers, more competition...but apple is catching up with this advantage, as I said, through os optimisation.

not really, if the specs say PCIe 4.0, 3,5ghz cpu ....you get exactly what you are promised!

why do people have to talk about, better the better daw or the better os in every thread.

this is not directed at you (@quadcore64) but at everyone! let people use what they feel like and if they ask for recommendations then you can give your opinion

    so back to topic
i agree, among the different windows versions, i would also say that win 10 is the best option and your hardware should also be able to handle everything easily

    Edited:
if you decide to go for win 10, i would always go for the ltsc version, because it is very stable and without bloatware.

Below are examples of a heavily tuned OS with all networking disabled.

Without Pro Tools With Pro Tools

    wo.PNG with.PNG

    Less Snipper Tool & Clipboard: 58 & 61 respectively.

Forgot to mention. Windows Defender is still running in the examples.

One question I forgot to ask...Is that laptop your main or only computer?

Also. If you have the know how. When was the last time you took it apart for service?

    Memory pull & reseat
Thorough cleaning of fans & heat spreader fins (Q-Tips, toothpick, alcohol)
Repaste of CPU & GPU (good non-conductive thermal paste)

@Soul1975, the stupid window header in PT is a Windows version (well knowing) problem.
So why you post some screenshot from a Mac OS version as the big wannabe-solution?

Wasn't a solution stupid. You came into a thread about P.T just to complain about the GUI.

Mostly all Pro Tools threads with its loyal (fanatical) user ends in a swearword dispute.
In such threads you can see exactly how the Stockholm Syndrome works & unfold its effect...

Good. Should be done yearly for laptops that get heavy use.

    I have discovered this pseudo-solution:

-Click on the Start Menu, type System, and press Enter.
    -Choose Advanced System Settings.
-Under the Performance section, click the Settings button.
-In the Performance Options window, click the Advanced tab.
-Under the Processor Scheduling section, select the Background Services option.
-Hit Apply and then OK to close the Performance Options window.
-Click OK to close the System Properties window.
-Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.

And then run ProTools as Administrator

This should help a bit. I have only tested it in ProTools 12.5

    Good luck

Try to uninstall MSI Dragon Center,
and already said here Background Services option must be on mandatory.
Under Windows 10 Privacy settings uncheck all background apps too.
