Avenger - Vengeance and their support philosophy...

    I have to copy paste this here from the KVR forums to show off the company practices and how paying customers are beeing treated... hopefully to see this by important persons which make some wise decisions.
    This is simply NOT acceptable, the forums are full of paying customers complains - and I am so sad that customers cannot do anything against them - not to mention the worst copy protection for loyal customers ever. (have to manually reactive every x days online, etc...)

    PS: Sorry for my bad english. Not my mother language.

    It's, interesting but the costumer should have published quotes of the conversation.
    She was rude? Ok, but how rude ?

    Anyway, in general, we as customers, have no legal protection toward developers. That's why, after being disappointed several times, I now use cracked soft until I can check Dev policy on the long term.

    About protection, it should be a legal obligation for them to explain the whole protection process before you buy.

    You have (at least in Europe). But it's probably a pain in the ass to get everything sorted out. Policies like the one in FL studio (that you cannot resell it) are also illegal in EU, I wonder why noone sued them (from what I have read some time ago, they refuse to transfer accounts and ban the account, if they suspect that it's not the original buyer or something similar).

    Well, to tell the truth, salesmen in general behave like that. They all sound sweet and great when they want to sell you something, but after your money has left your pocket, so does their polite behaviour. I have lots of interesting experiences with buying computer parts, mostly not for myself, but my clients. Since about a decade, I started buying mostly from just one company. Not just because their prices are among the best, but also because their working ethics were the best I've ever experienced.

    Same can be applied to program and plugin developers. If they suck, stay away from them and let everybody now about youur experiences and their work ethics. Hit them right there where it hurts the most - their pocket. Because once the bad word spreads around not many people will buy from them.

    However, there is also this thing with customers who can be really rude... true Olymoon. There are people who feel offended about everything and get angry and start using rude language immediately, so instead of just complaining, that guy should have posted some kind of a transcription of how the conversation went between them.

    My experience with Vengeance is totally different:
    I have had three inquiries about problems with Avenger over the years, once also about activation.
    I felt that I was taken seriously, and each time the matter was escalated at short notice to the boss himself, who resolved the matter to my satisfaction. 3 times is a mathematical series and so statistically relevant.

    However, I have also not tried anything on principle, because I meant to have a claim to a certain procedure at the company concerned (activation process at Vengeance).
    Also asking the wrong people (e.g. salesperson) about legal questions rarely leads to the desired solution.
    Extremely rarely in my life have I experienced that when I have approached people in a friendly manner and with reasonable expectations, I have been treated rudely.

    It is a biased summary of a correspondence that has taken place between a customer and developer and therefore not particularly credible If I have to say my honest opinion. It would have been more believable if the customer had shown the entire conversation back and forth, exactly as Oly says above.
    Dont believe everything you read.

    Anything fine here either, they even implemented a feature request and fixed bugs.
    I love Avenger,the only thing I like less is that it shows slower than other similar complex synths, but on the other hand faster than others.
    Overall I am happy
