What if we use both operating systems? Can we vote twice?
Maybe more revealing would be to ask what hardware, pc or mac, people use.

Thank you all for your answers so far! This is very interesting!

Well you can all add which hardware you are using for sure in the comments here. But in the poll I'd like to keep it simple for now and I just would like to know the general system. Some of us might even use Linux, but currently I'm not interested in that. I might add another more advanced poll later though perhaps...

 

Oh and also please just answer with your main system. If you really use the systems 50/50, well... then please just skip the voting. For me most interesting is the ratio between Mac and Windows users in audio production or at least in the music environment.

Do you mean which platforms you make music on or which platforms do you utilize in any way in the music making process? For example, I use my old iPad to experiment with chords and melodies when I'm not around my computer and I also use it to interact with Omnisphere. Does that count? Also, what is the purpose of the poll? What are you hoping to learn?

 

i hate all android platform and i windows user but i love ios

 

would be nice if poll included Hackintosh (MacOS on PC hardware),
anyway, I voted Mac because although I do have dualboot, for audio, it's really MacOS for me

 

Allow me to explain. You old-school tiger wouldn't know about these modern things.
Android is so bad for making music you need two stacked up.

If you use both Mac and iOS you can choose both. I actually use both, too. Sometimes I even use an old Windows machine for some plugins. The main purpose... Well it’s just out of interest. My guess was that far more users use Windows machines in the meantime (since Windows 10) but it’s still about 50/50 seemingly. I am thinking about and will upgrade my existing Windows machine, especially now after „the big R2R wave“ on the sister site. But I don’t know if I should switch from my Mac to Windows as my main production system.
Well we could start a discussion about which is better, but that depends on many factors and has already largely been discussed.
So I was just curious how the Mac/Windows ratio is here in this great forum.

 

I have never used an Apple product and don' t plan on ever getting one. For me they're overpriced, overhyped status symbols for people who have too much money and know nothing about tech.
