    Hi Audiosex community
    I'm new here and im not a english native speaker, so excuse for any grammar mistakes.

    Without futher ado, i have experience in Ui design and i really wanted to make skins for the newest Amplitube 5, you know, take the Amp5 tube screamer and make it look like the original Ibanez one, but i dont know how to get my hands on the source files, extract them and stuff.

    Does anyone knows how to do it? If i pull this out i will be more than happy to share with you guys!
    Thanks in advance.

    I think very few people will be interested in such a insignificant visual change. nothing wrong with the original. But that's just my opinion maybe someone can help you access the needed files.

    I think it's always good to try and improve what you may see worthy of it, just for the pleasure of it. I encourage it.
    As to decompiling a program, I heard or read somewhere that it's (sometimes) possible to extract components by means of (de-)archivers such as 7zip. However, this appears not to apply to Amplitude 5. But perhaps running an Internet (G**gle) query on how to deconstruct, decompile, or extract from an .exe file may yield knowledge and point to tools.
    Good luck @Rgancaro and welcome to the Forum. :guru:

    Thanks for your reply
    And you hit jackpot, as a designer it's a fun challenge to modify already established things.
    Amplitube uses "pak" files, i tried to use winrar and 7zip to unpack it, but it was a no go.
    I think its encrypted, because not even the softwares that deal with pak files managed to extract it.
    @Aileron Thanks again

    As you said, Resource Hacker is perfect for dll's, but amplitube uses pak files.. :(
    But thanks for taking your time to help!

    I'm always up for new skins of stuff. It could never hurt to have extras around, after all we end up staring at the same interface for years at a time so any visual change is usually quite pleasant to the eyes in my opinion. Good luck in figuring it out OP.

    Not true, i have always welcomed these kind of thing, reskinning a plugin and giving it a fresh look, always put's a smile on my face, and for unknown reason, most of the time 3rd partie skinning is almost always more on point, and more true, which is why i always welcomed it, and will continue to do so, and if a guy needs some help i'll try my best even with an encoring message.

    That being said, i think you need some expertise in reversing, in order to unpack the necessary files, contact @r4e and see if he can offer assistance, pretty sure he'd be happy to assist, or in the very least point you out to someone who can!

    Good luck and I'm exited to see what you can add, to an already good looking plugin...
