Every time I see the name of this synth I have a flashback to seeing the Plasmatics here, there and everywhere. Wendy had the best tits but now they're dead.

I probably missed that part when I started skipping his self promotion, and didn't see any reference to it on the plugin's site.

    Thanks!

I was sold at subtractive sythesis. Then physical modelling?

It's just a shame about the disgusting, lime-green monochrome interface that's impossible to navigate. But at least it's not Absynth snotilicious!

I hate it when cute lil birds die ;____; I also blame No Avenger. He's pretty vengeful! Who would've guessed? :O

It was good, it is still good.

I really love physical modelling and Plasmonic seems to be a great asset.

I see some similarities in sound (Plasmonic) with the old wonderful underrated physmod NI Prism, that by the way can be used as insert fx too.

@aymat. You're not making it easier on me to decide where to drop the hundred beans that's burning a hole in my wallet trying to decide between this and Synapse Audio Obsession. The Plasmonic sounds fresh and new to my old ears but I totally love the filters and especially"...
The individual voice control is perhaps the most important feature of Obsession: Each voice board can differ noticeably from the others in many ways, creating that organic, lively sound that vintage-analog poly synths are famous for.

For instance, turning the Cutoff Frequency trimpot to the left means that the Cutoff Frequency of that particular voice is going to be lower than average, whereas turning it to the right means it is higher than average. Likewise, turning the Amp Release trimpot to the left is going to shorten the release time somewhat for that particular voice, whereas turning the trimpot to the right will result in a longer release time. Even extra parameters like oscillator and filter scaling, found on the voice boards of the real hardware, are present in Obsession.

I'm not asking for advice, just voicing my Quandary.

@Lois Lane trust me I know the feeling :mates:

I'm tempted to pick up Plasmonic as well but I'm currently saving up for some hardware so it's killing me. I'll say this about Plasmonic, it's not the most intuitive synth and I'm not a huge fan of the GUI but man does it sound heavenly. Right now I'll have to live with using the demo which only works 30 minutes at a time but that's enough time to bounce out some audio until I can buy it.

Haven't tried Obsession yet but only because I'm covered on the Oberheim emulations with a couple of other vsts (OP-X, Arturia and UVI emulations). It does look pretty enticing though. Let me know what you end up getting!

Hi folks, just finished a new audio demo for Yuli Yolo's upcoming Plasmonic sound set, Plethora Beta. It's a really well thought out sound set with very nice percussive, atmospheric and cinematic type sounds:

I've also started a facebook page if anyone is interested in more upcoming Plasmonic demos:

P.S. - Sorry to do this to you @phumb-reh

I snoozed and loosed...should have bought it at 99 bucks and now it's at the regular price of 149. Anybody have a coupon code for this fool, it would be mighty appreciated.

    And nice demo there, aymat!

@Lois Lane Thats awesome! I'm going to start working on creating a sound set for it soon, and force myself to learn it better. I'll let you know when its ready. One thing about Plasmonic is that its gui is not the most intuitive I've ever used and I feel like I could get a lot more out of it if I could wrap my head around it better. Would love to see a tutorial released for it. All that said, there's enough in the factory presets alone to keep me busy for quite a while.
