Since you're diggin' Parallax, give Mammoth a try!

I tried already, was reminded about it again right in this thread so I tried the demo before buying but it never shows up in my daw with the binary files & the installer is broken for me.

Such a shame because I wanted to bag that & throw down on the Rhino plugin release preorder but it just didn't work out on some technical error unfortunately. Some VST3's just don't show up in Fl Studio for some reason. I contacted AuroraDSP about it, but they only took it as it's first broken installer report and then I was SOL since there was nothing anyone can really do in these situations honestly. lol

Really seems like an incredibly capable plugin though. I tried it with the copy of mammoth on the sister site the next day but still no bueno unfortunately.

That's unfortunate man. I'd say give it a try in Reaper lol, but yeah too much work just to try something.

You were actually the user the recommended me that I think, I just edited my comment because I thought it was technical mumbo jumbo that wasn't needed in the thread so i asked for my comment to be deleted as to not much up the thread.

Honestly I may just do that because I'm looking for a daw for more traditional left to right recording lately anyways to go along with Fl Studio. I was looking back at Cubase but that was from like 2004 so I'm sure too much has changed since then. But I'm so incredibly interested in mammoth, you have no idea haha

For some tracks to test to determine if they are what you like, go to Dark Times Collaboration. Unprocessed clean guitar tracks.

There is no reason for the plugin and standalone versions to sound different. VST hosts will not alter your audio input in any way.

So I figured out why some vst3 plugins show up and some don't. I've been dumping vst3 files into my own folder & my daw doesn't read from that directory. I found the right folder path & mammoth shows up now. Gonna go & bag that now finally haha

Tried the Gojira plug, I think I'm gonna buy that too. Still so many guitar plugins to demo.

Any good hi gain metal plugins you all recommend I try next? I want to narrow down my list.

Just spent some time with Fortin Cali Suite & I'm very impressed with that one too. I kind of expected to be wowed after I tried Parallax.

Somehow I knew that if Neural DSP could nail a bass amp then they could go above & beyond on a guitar amp. How right was I? Gojira blew me away instantly. Guessing I should try Nolly next by the sound of your comparison.

With Fortin Cali, I could see myself getting great tones more suitable for heavy 90s guitar with it, but in the best way.

@Donut Nyamer glad you got it working! Have a look at Mercuriall. They're using similar tech to Neural DSP and sound pretty rad.

    Have you tried STL plugins?

after the Gojira plugin with it's standalone, it really makes me miss the standalone of the other plugins.

I've been with Overloud and Helix and they partly fill the need.

Lately..... I have not time to test the Great Wave Aftermath, especially Sotfube, Nembrini and Neural!

In fact I am going to uninstall the Overloud..... previously!!

same here!, Overloud is a joke, there is dozens of cabs and amps , but they all sound like one.

I was mostly impressed by the harmonizer/octaver pedal in Gojira and auto-filter/wah in Wong, nothing that impressive has been done yet to model pedals in vst.

Just tried Gojira, and I absolutely love it, specially amp one, since I'm not a metal guy, and it does amazing clean and crunchy tones...The least impressive one is Abasi, in my opinion.

Anyway, agree about Overloud. I also don't have it on my system anymore, nor Amplitube, Axiom, etc...(New Amplitube sounds dull as fuck)

I'm keeping Helix (because it's a jack of all trades), Kuassa 360 (because it cuts through a mix pretty well), Softube Bluesbreaker (It's the only one I liked in the package) and Neural.

I'm really impressed with Gojira; I'm not a metal guy either but this one cleans up very well and the WOW and OCT pedals along with the DLY and REV (with shimmer) pedals make this a real winner. The other Neural DSP I like is Cory Wong; nice clean sounds and excellent pedals with one of the best sounding Wah pedals I have tried.

I still use Overloud TH-U but mainly with the Rig Libraries and Kuassa 360 (sometimes just Kuassa Clarent) but I hardly ever load Helix Native, as it just sounds so wimpy compared to even Guitar Rig 6 or Softube Amp Room let alone the better plugins I listed above.

Thanks man, seems some installers auto place the vst3 files and some let me choose my own directory and whats where I was going wrong. Mammoth isn't the first vst3 plugin to not show up but I'm also so glad I cleared that up.

Oh right I think you said that earlier in the thread actually, will check Mercuriall for sure. JST Toneforge plugs, Nembrini & the Softube amps are still yet to be looked at also. Every single Neural DSP plug I've tried so far has blown me out the water just how close they sound to real amps. I tried the Nembrini Blackice Beta Gamma 3 days ago & prefer that over Neural's Darkglass. But Darkglass is still good I should mention.

Each Neural amp seems to differ from the other but I'm having a tough time narrowing down which ones I like most as I move down the line of amp sims since each one I've tried so far all seem to be keepers.

I'm having that feeling that I'm gonna have to bag probably everything Neural DSP have put out. One thing I've noticed is the consistency in quality across each amp plug. They handle their strengths & they handle them well.

I agree wholeheartedly...I made a few tunes the other day with Gojiras variant. A hard style producers dream on kicks and bass lines..

I doubt R2R is gonna do it. Just use SaviHost and make your own standalone version. It'll work the same.
