Be aware that a freeware coming from this developer may contain malware, uncrack any plugin from tone2, call home and give your IP etc...
SaviHost is a much better option.

So i dl the plugins put out my strat open nolly then plini then abasi and NO it is not the best plugin to this day
Its hype and overhype and mucho placebo period.
I bet 1000000000 dollar that if i did a blind test and let every guitarist here try out many different ampsims without KNOWING which ampsim is used they wouldn't be able to pick out which is neural dsp out of many different ampsims much less say which is wich based on FEEL like a real amp.
This so BS i wanna puke in 1 year or so another company will come out with another new bla bla and then all the tone chaser will go nuts and say its the best it is exactly like a real amp.
But then you fire up a freeware with a good IR and they sound identical but the GUI suck.
And then you let somebody play a real tube amp and they say hey this sounds so fizzy and digital what is this shitty ampsim

Although the NeuralDSP stuff sound good and tight & most probably a step-up compared to the competitors (the ZUUL noise gate has to be one of the best pedals ITB, just try it with the knob turned to the left-most position and enjoy noiseless guitar playing with any of your favourite guitar plugin following the chain), I still haven't found ANYTHING that beats the Kazrog FB100 amp sim in terms of tightness and how natural it sounds.

I always try to spend some time with new plugs in order to test them properly, but whenever I return to the aforementioned Kazrog plug everything else sounds just "meeeeh"...

So, just tried all Softube amps individually.

The only one I liked was the JTM 45 (owned one for years)...The rest is pretty much in the same league as Nembrini, PA, etc...

However, I still have the same complaint: They are all tone suckers.

Again, I've used my strat for testing, and they don't allow all different pickup positions to shine through, unlike NDSP.

I'll keep the JTM 45, though. It's fun!

As for the Amp Room itself, I hated it. Utterly unintuitive. It's a mess.

    Just my two cents, anyway.

Yeah I'm also not a fan of the amproom, looks shiney at first butslow to work with, and this is r2r lightening it imagine the protected one :D

I sent a friend of mine the silver jubilee, using his les paul got an ac/dc sound quite fast and convincing. I'll also keep some amps, I can chain pedals and fx on the plug-in order anyway if can't get used to the amp room.

But neural is a go-to for me when jamming over tracks, the presets are also nice. This softube will probably be a specialty if I want vintage amp vibe.

Thanks for the infos about the host plugins. but i have a question, like, if i use the neural vst inside this host it will sound exactly the same as the actual neural standalone ? I mean, standalone plugins are made in vst format anyawy or they have a different base code/language than the vst versions ?

Also something regarding the discussion about amp sim sound quality, imo what i can say is that i belive yall have different phones/speakers so it will sound different for each one of you, for better or for worse.

proof or it didn't happen. Where are your examples of freeware+good IR vs. Neural DSP?

Thanks for the info. The problem with all this, is everyone has their favorite, and what works for them. Computers, audio interfaces, and headphones/speakers all play a role in what works. That's why I use several different sims for what I need, pertaining to what song I am performing. So....respect to those who know what they like. Our ears and talent are all different.

In terms of quality? Or just in terms of sound? If it's the latter, then that is subjective and depends on the context of the mix. If it's the former, that's gonna be a long list lol. Usual ones Ownhammer, York Audio, Redwirez, Dr Bonkers, Seacow Cabs, ML Sound Labs.

I have Amphub, Will Putney and Andy James. The Tonality series will be superseded by Amphub when the VH4 gets included imo.

I completely agree. I found his reviews to be quite informative and found his opinions to be quite similar to my own findings. As with anything, it's a guide...not a decision making tool.

It's in the Neural DSP Fortin suites. Just disable the amp and cab sections.to use it with another amp sim.

Oh I'm aware of disabling the IR/cab section in plugins to swap out custom Impulse responses. Sorry, I was reffering to the Zuul Noise gate that Slayerman mentions previously that he uses ITB, but I only get this hardware pedal result when searching. https://www.fortinamps.com/product/zuul-blackout/

@SEnki I see what you mean now, sorry totally went over my head earlier. I just went to check the fortin amps and I see it there now! I just haven't got around to checking them out with the abundance of amps that were released.

I'm still stuck on Parallax because it's so good haha damn I wish this noise gate was available as it's own effect. That would be useful.
