Ok i can downmix from stereo to mono in the control panel
but you only hear that on the monitors
I would like to hear in the Heaphones connected to my interface
I know there are work arounds but i just want to drop a VST on the Master Channel
and switch on and off very simple

so what VST can I use

Anything from iZotope, like Ozone or RX, has a mono button.
There are even utility plugins that do this.
And sooo many other plugins have this too.
Logic has simple utility plugins that have this.
    Doesn't Cubase?

Im not sure if this is out of topic but i want to suggest you to take a lot at the dearVR monitor plugin. it has everything for your headphones mixing needs. I was skeptical at first, but now I cant mix without it if using headphone, and turn it off when im back to the monitors. as per your question, yes it has mono downmix as well.

Well it's not, but if you weren't sure you shouldn't have posted it!
But seriously, as I implied above, IF Cubase doesn't have a mono plugin utility, I'll be very surprised!

    1. Me wonders why Cubase's Control Room does not work with your headphones. You must have routed this specifically.
    2 .
does not have a mono switch, only L/R and M/S
    3.
is no longer available, at least I couldn't find a working link.
    4. SoundSpot MSW1 Mono Stereo Widener does in deed work flawlessly, I didn't know of it before. :like: ATM it's free on their homepage, but you'll find it at AZ too. And it looks like this is the only one available and made just for this purpose.
    5. HOFA 4U has the Meter, Fader & MS Pan tool, but you need that effin dl manager.

just looking for a button to push on the master bus to go Mono / Stereo to check for mono working ok on the bass,
in Cubase you have it only in the Control room which only goes to the Speakers not the headphone mix at least that i know how to do
I dont want to add an effect or anything to change the sound just a simple Mono Stereo button on the Master Bus
Cubase does not have it :(

Lol. In worst case scenario one just have to pan (mixbus/master) L and R channels to the center (and not use a plugin at all). Also, most monitor controllers have a mono button.

..and yp, imo every daw (should) have a tool like this
