I recently upgraded my computer and will be installing WAVES for the first time in about 4 years.
The version I have works perfectly, and the only reason I never upgraded is because the 'horror stories' in the comment sections. "this doesn't work...the screen is blank...get errors" etc.

My question is: Can someone please recommend the newest version that's known to work well, with no hiccups. Thanks a lot.

Literally all versions. Its been a while since they've had major bugs, Waves are one of the few plugins that have consistently worked flawlessly for me for the last few years.

People warn to not select any drivers (some seem to suspect it for install failure?).

I forgot to do this on the first attempt:
Make sure to UNCHECK the "SD" ("SD" for "Standard Definition" sound library) to the right of any instrument or bundle that might include an instrument (deselect it..ensure it is not highlighted).

Also, the Mercury bundle includes most stuff. Once installed you can open the 'plugins' folder and compare what's there to the Waves Central listing.

12.31.2020 Complete is a good one on sister site. Exactly! follow instructions. Be patient. Hints about install failure fixes? Easy. Google that error. WAVES teaches all of us.

waves is easy, you have the last full r2r release, or just the patcher if you want to download a newer version from the waves server yourself

here you can search through release info:
