R2R says "clean up your computer before the main wave comes!" Someone help me! Is this enough space for big waves?
I had the same issues as a lot of the software doesn't give you the choice to install to alternate external drives. Windows Symbolic Links are the answer!
S Since there are no sample libraries, it should be more than enough: most of their releases are less than 50 mb.
It's curious, isn't it. The biggest VSTis releases are Softube's that are clearly more about effects.
I wouldn't mind if it was a desktop but external HD's with a laptop are a pain especially with constant moving.
Indeed, that's what I already mentioned somewhere else: more than 90% of these are effects, not instruments.
Never use external drives, too complicated (except for making clone backups, as additional safety). Once I dropped an old Seagate HD and almost lost everything. Now I use a Macbook Pro with maximum capacity right from the start (you can choose 2, 4 or 8TB of SSD) and that's it it's all in there, without the need of having stuff spread across multiple instances and the need of carrying and constantly pluging in/out/in/out hard drives. That will cost you +/- 4'000 USD but at least you're sorted. Use two hard drives for backing it all up with Time Machine (1) in real time + (2) once a day (and keep them in separate places, in case someone steals your computer or your flat burns), as well as Dropbox to instantly copy your most essential files meanwhile. Done. Last edited: Jan 3, 2021
Get at least 10-20 TB of hard drive, just like anyone else. Did you buy your computer in the 2000s? lol
I downloaded 20 plugins (probably at least 10-12 too many) using 645.95 MB of HDD space. Are you people about to make a public warehouse?
I.. dunno. My memory is a bit hazy, but Spitfire libs were a thing, then, maybe? I think? Nowadays it's a bit weird; I have slightly more SSD space than HD space. The big wave is ~under 50G so, it's not something to even notice. Yet? Why ask me...? >____> Spoiler I mean, I downloaded everything. But I was prolly the only person in the world who was interested in LeSound and their stupid footsteps lib! Actually, I should be the one to ask...?!
