There's a lot of energy at the forums lately and it's really an exciting time to be part of the family. Besides the awesome community experience that we've been able to create here AudioSex is making an album, also a new sample project where we will be making a library of free samples available for anyone that is interested, we have a new Genre Specific Production section with subcategories for DJ, Electronic, Industrial, Rap, Video Game/Film Scoring and if the section takes off we will introduce more. This is only in the last week so you know that you can expect so much more in the future. We haven't even upgraded the forums yet and that is a project we'll be working on too. Other things of note: I've continued rewarding contributors with plenty of Uploaded.net coupons, there are some new console videos on page 2 of AudioSex Academy (Part 1) as well as the last 2 seasons of 5 Minutes To A Better Mix in table of content format so you can watch as much or as little as you want. I've also got more great videos that I will post when I get a chance. Then there's some other things that I've got planned but I won't talk about them because mystery is a good thing that we often forget in this day and age. All this in addition to all the things you've come to know and love about us already. So what are you waiting for? Come join us at the forums because together there's nothing we can't do. :break:

What do you mean? I'm confused because you liked the post but your comment is making me feel like you don't like it here for some odd reason. I hope I'm misunderstanding you because if you want to go nobody is holding you back.

I liked your post, because it's good way to promote such things, but these activites in community like this feels to me like pushing it in wrong direction. In fact I wanted to leave long time ago, because of the unfriendly, ridiculing or non-constructive response when I ask for something.
Take my 40kHz thread as an example - Link.
First page is just about laughs as I'm apparently quote "probably insane".

In another instance I'm apparently as wrong as possible (quote: "there's so much wrong with what you've said") and I was not provided with clear solution from the author - Link

Now to the subject, the Audiosexed album thing is a great idea, in fact I thought of it before, but I dismissed it, for I couldn't imagine how an idea like this would be accepted by this community if it was presented by me.
Yes, I tend to take everything personally, so let's say I want to contribute my song to this album. I spend weeks polishing it, refining it and in the final stage the reviewer may find it unorthodox, inadequate or just 'not compatible with people's tastes and perception'. Some would call it life, but I call it competition. These things are not the same. Life may be perceived as competition, however it's just one way to look at the big picture. Competition is always competition.
I'm used to people not agreeing with me, it has always been like that, so I won't be surprised if 78% people here would call me "insane".
Perhaps I won't leave. I'll watch this album project from distance, never contributing to it for fear of final failure.

Or I rewire myself, start to be an active member, start my VPN/Alldebrid coupon giveaways as I always wanted, submit my 100% original and unorthodox track and if all goes well, I can make my mark on this album. Also my sample projects become more popular and most important of all - I start to trust myself, understand my self worth and become more optimistic.
    Hopefully... *yes*

Andrew I can totally understand your frustration and I'd like to personally apologize if you've had a bad experience here. However I assure you that things have been different since I've come on board, it's a little shocking to me that you haven't noticed. I saw many things that were already great but there were some areas that needed improvement and so over the last year I have worked my ass off trying to make this place a true community experience which sadly is really lacking in the online world (and the offline one) particularly in music circles where members often have an alpha male know-it-all disposition. The thread you are referring to is more than a year and a half old and A LOT has changed since then. I really empathize with you man because I too am unorthodox and to be honest I didn't have the greatest experience here when I first signed up either. There were even a couple of times when out of enthusiasm I shared some music I enjoy listening to and one member or other felt the need to tell me how much it sucked instead of just not listening to it. This to me was the epitome of absurdity and it really pissed me off, not because of what people thought about me (because I could care less) but because of the fact of how completely unnecessary and unfriendly it was. There were some kind people here that reached out to me though and that has made all the difference. If there is one thing I have learned is that you can't let what other people are doing affect what you're doing. People will always talk shit, nothing new there but why does that dictate who you are or what you do next? It shouldn't because when you're climbing to the top there will never be a shortage of people trying to pull you down but if you look closely there will also always be a hand helping you up. Do you want to know how my story ends? With me overcoming all those odds, becoming a respected moderator and member on both AudioSex and Audioz 2 very popular forums and here I sit extending the same courtesy and kindness to you that was extended to me all that time ago. I give you my word that if you ever have a problem here my door is always open, drop me a line and I'll take care of it. Maybe you'll make that song and yet still won't get on the album or maybe you do, that does not matter as much as you think it does. You think I can't understand that frustration? I don't have even half the time in producing as many of the members here so it is likely that I won't get on to the album either and you want to talk about unorthodox, I'm really into Industrial music...that's about as unorthodox as it gets. If I don't make the album does that mean that I should be angry and leave? No because I am not defined by the album, I'm defined by what I do when things don't work out just as much as I'm defined by when they do. Now I want you to think about what I just said, listen to this track I've posted for you and then come join us in the forums because we need an Andrew around here. :mates:

yeah man, don't feel bad about what people think of you. Especially the internet. Most of the time the internet is filled with shitty opinions no one cares about nor want's which is why it's on the rubbish land of the internet.

And also, about the album, don't worry so much about it. It's just an album and it's just some music. The main point of the whole album is to improve the community and bring a better light to it, we're not trying to play the popularity or jealousy game here :)

There are already some random people who aren't from these forums posting me their tracks cuz they wan't a piece of it soooo bad. But really, it's not a huge deal...were just making this a relaxed thing were if you have time, by December 25 you can post a track and it will get properly reviewed by people like me. Sure, there will always probably be that annoying guy that HAS to criticize overtly and act like he knows best...but don't worry, I end up giving the final go-ahead and with my quality control, I assure you only people with respect, kindness and humbleness will go on the album.

I don't give a shit if someone is the best producer in the world and he wants to go on the album, if he's acting like an arrogant fool with no regard to work ethic or discipline, he's not going to get a piece of it. In every situation or area in life, it doesn't matter how good you are, if you don't have proper work ethic, respect, or discipline no one will care about skill. Nothing is more powerful than a good first impression, and the best start anyone could make is following the guidlines and the proper thread naming conventions rather than straight away putting their tracks in my dropbox thinking I'm going to listen to them...

Don't worry man, have a go at making a track, if you wan't make a track and send it to my P.M so I can give you some positive reviewing on it and I can prepare you
for the quality standards of the album... :mates:

Hey! Don´t let this bothers you. That´s how internet is, in every site where you can drop a comment, up to the 3rd line you start reading unnecessary unfriendly stuff. It seems to be a lot of hold frustrations and violence out there, but don´t worry, think it this way: anything like this project could be done without nice people involved. So make some music and share it with people who will take it seriously and maybe could give you an usefull advice. I also had bad comments in the past without any reason, but also good ones and the most value thing here is how much you can learn from others opinions and experience, not compliments. Don´t worry that reviews are not to decide who is 'in or out' and HK did a great job clarifying this: "Reviews should not be biased based on taste..." so with some luck everything should result in a nice and respectful learning experience for everybody. *yes*
