if you haven't heard about it, Disney/Pixar has just released a new movie starring Jamie Foxx as the main character - SOUL - a jazz piano player, who's settled for a life as a school band teacher among mostly unappreciative students. He gets his big break as a performer, but then ...

Not knowing if these animated movies are your "thing" or not, I wanted to tell you it's a first for Disney - a story based in NYC, and where JAZZ is front and center. Not the 80's-90's Dave Guisin-esque "smooth jazz", but serious be-bop and cool jazz ... I enjoyed the story (we're Disney fans), but the music was a treat

Yes, I've seen a few video snippets. The animation is quite good. Of course, Pixar is known for it's superior animation. They have some very good actors performing the voices. Unfortunately, we don't have Disney Plus or anything of that sort as part of our package. But at some point, I'll definitely check it out. As for the music, I've had a chance to listen to some of the tracks. Excellent. I remain a huge fan of Be-Bop & the music genre that sprang from it. But, I also like contemporary Jazz as well. Thanks for mentioning the movie.
