I want to improve my bagpipe synth sound :

Do you guys have any advice how to make it sound more natural .

(or can you share a better bagpipe synth sound in any synth ?)

As if 2020 hasn't been bad enough already.

Now we get a bagpipe synth, lol.

 

I think the low sound has less harmonics, more like a triangle wave or lower lowpass.

 

That's a good harmonium sound.

 

Have you tried Music developments Syne? It's a kind of additive synth, very effective in imitating reed(ish) sounds. However the bagpipe is a very complex instrument and sampling is perhaps a better route.

 

Just for some comic relief (this IS a bagpipe thread, afterall):
25 years ago I was working an evening shift as a janitor in a high school to support my music/substance habits.
Each night I had a supper break at 6pm.
I would sneak down to the boiler room and smoke hash.
Then I would sneak up to the empty band room where there was a Roland keyboard synth that had a distortion effect.
I programmed a killer metal guitar sound and hid it at the back of the user presets.
I would wail on that preset loudly through an amp, stoned out of my skull.
One night, the music room door opened while I was playing and it was the school constable dressed in a kilt and wearing bagpipes.
In that condition you might expect me to freak and sh1t my pants.
Being a professional and having dealt with unexpected scenarios over the years, I looked at him and said let's do it.
He started droning while I soloed over top and then I played sustained chords and arpeggios while he soloed over top.
We got along quite well after that and had a number of jams.
Haven't done a bagpipe duet since, though

 

Sound like an interesting idea.
(Sampling would be better for sure, and easier as well, but I want to challenge my self a bit, only this way I can get better at sound design)
