hello there. I just did a total format of my PC (about 10 days ago), installing the last updated Win 10 20H2 (before I had Win 10 LTSC, not the last version though). I've been having tough issues with my Graphic Card (I think it's that). but I'd like to have a confirm that it's that, and not something else too.

having green glitched screen whenever I put full-screen video (youtube or everything), then I have crash everytime I play online games (for now, Apex and Rocket League), often followed by BSOD. sometimes, I have BSOD even opening Chrome or something else.

Here is some screen of the recent BSOD, I'd like to ask you if everyone of these can be related to GPU or it could be something else. thank you :)

Install WhoCrashed (https://www.resplendence.com/whocrashed) , follow the instructions to enable system dumps and then you should get a clue what is causing the crashes (a driver, some software and so on)

did you install actual proper drivers from your graphics manufacturer website?

also, maybe there's a BIOS update for your motherboard which might be useful to apply?

This is for sure a chipset driver problem.First update the bios if there is a more recent version then download the chipset driver from the manufactures site.Keep windows offline and boot into safe mode and remove all the chipset drivers reboot and install the ones you downloaded.Reboot again go to device manager and make sure there are no yellow marks in any of the devices pay specials attention on the display adapter/monitor entries. In the display adapter it must show amd or nvidia or intel depending what graphics card you have and in the monitor it must have your monitors brand

ok thank you guys. this is the result from WhoCrashed (BSOD during Rocket League):

Should I select "Dump complete" on Windows settings?

and for @tzzsmk : yes it's the latest suggested driver, updated Radeon Software.
there is a BIOS update, yes, is it possible that newer Win versions require BIOS update?
I mean, I updated my BIOS a year ago, then everything was ok. Until now, until this updated Win 10 Pro 20H2.

should I update my BIOS then?

    thank you.

ntkrnlmp.exe is causing the fault (at least this time), and very common cause for this are GPU driver issues. Search for that "ntkrnlmp.exe BSOD" for other possible solutions as well.

It can lead to further information, yes, so can't hurt. Important thing to be on the lookout if the crashed module changes on further BSODs (ntoskrnl.exe will be there always, you can basically ignore that).

2 other BSOD, this time I was not playing, but working on Cubase. that was a medium-heavy project for my system, if it can be useful to know.

I was using Premiere Pro and suddenly I got a black screen for like 1 second, then everything ok again. just like when you reboot Explorer.exe from Task Manager. I opened the Task Manager and I found the black screen was contemporary to this 3D spike on the GPU:

that module takes care of power management, so it's most likely power delivery issue caused by clashing BIOS with Windows 10,
are you running any overclock, high performance of power saving modes in either BIOS or Windows 10 power settings?

I have "ASUS Optimized" in the BIOS (it seems like it's the "high performance" profile), but I can't turn it off to normal: when I switch back to normal and click Save & Exit, it says nothing changed and reverted to "ASUS Optimized".

On Windows, I always have my personal power settings for Low and High, when I produce or play games, I'm on High. done this for years this way

    no overclock ever

"when I produce or play games, I'm on High" Oh don't worry about that, it's completely understandable. We've all done it. Cheer up!

It is most definitely a driver problem. Shame you moved on from a LTSC version. Especially if it was 1809. That's a really nice version for everything. However, I'm installing 2019 LTSC now and everything works fine, too. Well, what I was going to suggest is to go back and install an older LTSC version, if you can, to see if that one is working properly. In this case, Microsoft itself could be a culprit.

Just make an image of the OS disk before doing that, with Acronis True Image [suggested], install the older one [1809 suggested] and see how it works. Try running Memory Test and CPU-Z stability test for an hour at least.

Also, that PSU looks very suspicious, because something always happens when you're doing something more demanding on a PSU. Anything Sharkoon is very suspicious except maybe LED lighting strips. Do you have a friend from whom you can borrow a better PSU? That's a pretty shitty PSU, and a decent consuming rig. I think your PSU could be on a brink of blowing up and hopefully not taking some of the other components with it. People soooo underestimate the power of having a good PSU. ;)

In my builds, I just stick to Corsair TX or RM, or Seasonic, and BeQuiet! brands of PSUs. Never had a problem with a PSU and the computers last at least a decade. Also, I'd use a bit more Watts. I'd go for 650W Corsair TX at least in your case, or a Seasonic 650W, and a PSU must cost at least a 100 euro up.

    Cheers!

thank you for the answer, actually I update to latest Win10 because I already have these issues and I was thinking to an outdated OS. so I would not blame MS for this (although I'd really want to lol)

I can try to borrow a GPU from a friend and see what it happens, because it's more sospicious than the other HW

Oh, so it is a power supply after all, no doubt. Those Sharkoon ones can last for up to a year. maybe a couple of years at the most. It's great that you can borrow another PSU and see what happens! Now I'm about 90% sure it's the PSU. A new, better one can be a nice NYE present for you then.

You can also try some very low demanding GPU, too, but the PSU is giving all of it the wrong kind of juice... if you know what I mean. Instead of vodka, the components get water.

    Tell us how it went.

thank you. I thought about using a low GPU (I have a Radeon 5450 or something), but it would not replicate the same situation, because it asks much less energy than my RX 480. and I need to replicate the situation of a gaming or video editing quotidianity, to exactly tell what it is.

anyway, thanks for putting a light on the PSU, I'll definitely check out for an upgrade :)

Just random other question, do you use Loopcloud? Since the last update of that, my computer is not liking it! When I don't use it. I am fine. So also check if you haven't updated or installed some stuff lately.

Thank you. Yes I use it, but only when I'm on Cubase. And on Cubase I don't have any issues, even with heavy projects.

I don't use loopcloud when I game or edit
