    I'd say it's 4/4 followed by 5/4 @ 125bpm. You can count this also as 9/4, ofc.

    in FL studio you can set it to 32 beats, the start points of the loop lines up then but the timing for the notes is way beyond off

    125BPM
    The riff is in 9.
    So that repeats 4 times.

    So it's like a bar of 4 and a bar of 5 for the whole riff.

    @Kuuhaku
    That's because you can't count 9/8, like myself and No Avenger.
    It doesn't sound off if you can "hear" it.

    In your case, count it like this, 4+4+1. (4/4+5/4 time signature, or a 4/4, a 4/4, and a bar o' 1/4....whatever). If you want to notate it 9/4, that's subjective, and stylistically your call. Listen to this. She's got 2 bars of 4 then 1 bar of 5 (4+4+4+1) goin' on here :
    Bjork - Joga @ 1:59 - 2:31 (4+4+4+1)

    Adding 1 beat to a bar of 4/4 once or twice as an effect or device that's extremely useful, and can add interest while breaking up monotony. Making your beat 4+4+1 throughout the entire song is a different choice altogether where you could add a 4+4+2 or 4+4+3 to mix it up and add interest....(for example).

    Just to keep it organized on the time line in the DAW, set time signature to 3/4, however, you're not gonna feel it as a "simple triple" meter. (aka 3/4, (or 3/4+3/4+3/4.......3+3+3))
