Do you guys know if we buy this is it like a "single licence" so if you want to re-install WIndows or a different Windows version you'll lose the license?

Or is it like once you buy it and it's like a lifetime license

 

pretty sure its ilok license, so you can use it whereever and how often you like using the ilok cloud manager. But check double plz before you buy.

 

ilok cloud. maschine based license. no dongle required. I just buy it. it's cool but missing dry/wet knob.

 

Normal plugin price is $200.
I am from Russia and this is about 1/3 of my salary.
Sometimes I allow such a waste for plugins, but only if I cannot live without such a plugin.
I would never buy this compressor at the regular price, because there are many more affordable analogues and that is good for us.
But SSL provided an amazing discount and I couldn't resist buying! This compressor sounds great!

 

Couldn't pass it up for $20. Might have been a little disappointed for $200.

 

$20 down from $200 is a great discount, but this requires ilok which is a hard pass for me.

 

i believe you only need an account and the app.

 

I know I don't need a physical ilok, but my understanding of the app is, I have to remain connected to the internet, which is a no-go for me: when I produce, internet is off, both to save on CPU overhead & to stay focused on producing.
If it was like a one-time online authorization thing, that I can do, but not if I have to authorize online every time & definitely not if I have to remain connected to the internet.

 

Ironically, you have just described how an ilok key works.

 

As a person who has 8 ilok plugins through the cloud, you don't need to be online or remain connected to the internet all the time. The only time your only going to be online is to activate the activation serial through ilok.com and activate through daw and thats it. You can use the plugin offline once you activate the plugin. It works, I only go online to activate and then go offline to produce etc. All of my warez are working non have timebombed or phoned home.

it seems like its still on , whats the verdict has anybody tried it yet ? weirdly there s very little talk about it online.... what would you compare it to ? if you had already a hand full of compressor .... whats the reason to still get this one ? thanks!!!

Max MaxGR : 60dB? If someone need brickwall, who care about Max GR?
Min MaxGR is 20dB, we all know the thing : 15dB pumping artifact.

The only interesting thing is the side chain filters, but they are not as powerful as they seem.
Please, buy Sonnox Oxford Dynamics, it is definitely much better than SSL's X-COMP!
