Yeah, heard about Grace, but people say it's pretty heavy on CPU unfortunatly.

Haven't used it extensively, but I didn't notice any problem with its CPU usage though.

Great recommendation! Although the interface might seem a bit daunting at first (which is part of the reason why I haven't made the effort to learn it properly yet), I have to say it is very powerful and offers many more features than the other ones mentioned here.

Thanks a lot for adding these @SineWave! Here are mirrors in case these links go down in the future.

The guy who ran One Small Clue called it quits quite a while back, which is unfortunate, as I don't always want a sketch track, or just a basic track, bogged down with the CPU-hungry Maschine. But, I've been hyped on Apisonic's Speedrum which, although it's still in the final beta stages, will reportedly be out as a full v1.0 within the next month or so, if everything goes as planned.
I'm more than hyped on it, as I've been looking for a quick, lite-weight sampler that will work with my Akai/Maschine/etc. 16teen pads for a while now, and between the clean, sonible-esque GUI, the fact you can resize it, save kits, and it has simple & fast cut/choke features, as well as having a lot of Poise's features, well, it's worth checking out--oh, and there's no account necessary. I'm excited.

I checked it out today (Sitala) and was immediately impressed by how easy it is to work with, yet it can probably do what I need. Love how nicely it integrates with Reaper... avoiding the manual labor of routing things out and naming the channels.

Thank you for the information, and for the Speedrum recommendation. It looks really nice, I suppose that might have been the only thing that 'bothered' me about Sitala, that it doesn't have a dark skin. Speedrum looks more pleasant to the eyes for me.

Kinda sad how everyone's talking about other drum samplers now though, because Sitala is still a big accomplishment in my book, the devs have been super nice and I think their software is fantastic.

That was true until this release; as noted at the top of the features list though, this release adds sample trimming and beat slicing.
