There's https://me.informaxonline.com/, but it has ads and only a single file at a time. Rapidgator rarely works, Uploaded works a little more than half the time.

I was also greeted with the same "Oboom will be discontinued in the next few months..." message today. This is really sad because now downloading big sample libraries is over for me. Uploaded is banning accounts of AZ contributors and we often end up having no other options but using Rapidgator, which means one file every 3 hours at 100KB/s.

I'm honestly thinking to just stop downloading anything big from AZ. I cannot handle having my computer downloading whole day, and I'm not paying for either UL or RG. Unless the uploader provides some other download choices like Mega, Rockfile, or Zippyshare which have decent 21st century speed and no extremely stupid restrictions like one file per 3 hours.

The good days of downloading big sample libraries, or multiple files per hour at a decent speed are over, folks. Unless you pay for some downloading service. Capitalism, greed, and thieves, fuck you! :snuffy:

Speaking of free solution, I use LeechPremium.link when I really REALLY want to download something, and it's not possible to do it from AZ because there's only Rapidgator link alive. Oboom couldn't work with Rapidgator links anyway. So I had to use LeechPremium. Using LeechPremium for downloading is a nightmare of clicking through "link-shorteners", "captchas", incredibly dodgy popups etc. You should be either drunk or stoned, or sedated in some other way, to endure downloading a couple of links from there. It takes me about 10 minutes to finally get to the download link this way, but I should mention that the download link is very fast, almost worth those dozens of clicking... which by the way get more time-consuming and more annoying with each new download. LeechPremium allows two links per 10 minutes, and you can speed the mind-draining process up a little bit by using and properly adjusting uBlock Origin and NoScript together.

Very VERY SAD day. And the X-mas and New Year is coming, traditional download time... well, not this year. On top of Covid shit now this shit! I need some drugs, damn it, to calm down.

The only hope to help us who cannot or can't pay for any file server services is some kind of revision of AZ mirror rules, to include one of the aforementioned far more friendly file hosters. But that's not going to happen. We recently discussed that...

Its not over but it is sad. Russians still provide torrents for most of the things from sister site.
File hosting has been going down the tubes in the last few years if you think about how open and free internet was some 10 years ago. Things have changed a lot.

Gosh, I forgot about the Russian torrent tracker... They're going to get more traffic now that Oboom is gone. Thanks for cheering me up! :)

edit: pondering about it a bit more, this is going to hurt the contributors, too. I'm not sure how badly, but it will. They're not going to be happy, either.

yes rutracker gets most of the big stuff, but not all, and is a little slow on getting some of the new stuff. But the Oboom thing was unique.

I have always thought that these sites can thank their existence to AZ and the likes. Who else would use UL, RG etc.?
The whole thing was about privacy and earning money from file sharing, otherwise people could just share their files on Google Drive, OneDrive etc.

Now, if RG will be the only option, you can try rebooting your modem after each download if your ISP didn't provide you a fix IP address.
    Or use VPN.

Oboom may be over (and it's very sad) but this war will never be over.
UL is hearting itself and they will regret it but it's going to be late.
Oboom was unique, indeed, being completely free and without distracting ads and captchas.
I think the end of Oboom can be related to more restriction of UL/RG.

Long ago I've shared a theory of mine in this thread about how Oboom may run their business and if that was the case, it was just question of time for these FFS sites to catch them.

Does it? IIRC it doesn't work with Rapidgator. There is a limit of 1GB per hour. Also, the download speeds aren't great as well.

100% agree. The worst part is going trough all of that and finding out that the file won't download, because their quota for Rapidgator is already over. Also AFAIK they allow only a few links per hour.
