Oh man...so pissed right now. I was just sleeping earlier and I got a hard dose of sleep paralysis. This thing is a bitch! It's not the first time it happened to me, for some reason the moment I became aware of sleep paralysis, which was halfway through this year, the moment I started getting more of it. Before I wouldn't even notice lol.

But this time I got really pissed because it happened two freaking times. The first time I was actually terrorised. I woke up, took a break and hung out over here, felt better. Just moments later I went back to sleep and whence I fell asleep again, It happened again. But this time I was like BITCH HELL NAW! And I woke up raging.

As much as there is a scientific explanation for this, it genuinely does feel like some evil spirit is sitting on your chest. I swear if that motherfucker comes around the 3rd time tonight I will bitch slap the fuck out of him!!!

Anyway, just wanted to know whether any of you guys had any sleep paralysis this year. Man I wish I didn't become aware of it, now I can feel it more...

You had it 2 times and you are complaining? you should feel lucky

On average, I get about 4-6 times a night 2-3 nights a week. It happens even during daytime when I fall asleep on the couch sometimes.
One time my 2 brothers were sitting in the living room and they counted fifteen times where they had to wake me up because of sleep Paralysis. I agree with you it feels like a devil sitting on your chest and it's not pleasant at all. Sometimes it start at the feet and when it gets to you mid it rushes straight to you chest preventing you from breathing.
Even though I think I got used to it but still sometime it's overwhelming. When you have sleep Paralysis, try to remember what it is. Don't panic and always think it will never kill you.
Take a deep breath if you can and just pay attention to how cold that air feels. If you manage to control your fear, you could have out of body experiences. Some Indian Religious Monks use it for that purpose but it's not recommended for everyone.

I wish you a great weekend and a peaceful sleeping

I dont have sleep paralysis, but I think the best thing to do is get help. I actually dont really understand what happens to you when you got it, and what is the best way to treat it. But you have a problem you cant deal with it yourself, the only way is to get some kind of help.

I really hope you'll get better, having sleeping problems can be the hell on earth.

Funny that you would talk about this now

before I retired and I worked a lot of overtime, and did not get enough sleep, after 10 or 12 days of working in a row

I would get sleep paralysis, upon waking up I could not move, a truly weird feeling, nap 10 minutes more and I was good to go

This did not happen all the time but every once in awhile

In the last couple of weeks, twice upon wakening I have seen some dream after image , as real as, if this women from my dream, was standing right in front of me

and them she would just fade away in a rain of sparkles, since reality happens in the brain and the systems, sometimes do not reconnect or disconnect it does it's

    best job to interpret things.

People with narcolepsy fall asleep without warning, anywhere, anytime

Sleep paralysis is a phenomenon in which people, either when falling asleep or wakening, temporarily experience an inability to move.

Sleep apnea is a type of sleep disorder characterized by pauses in breathing or instances of shallow or infrequent breathing during sleep

yeah man it's weird shit. Luckily I kind of get over it after a short while. Just woke up from sleep again an luckily it didn't happen again cuz I was ready to break out of paralysis and fuck shit up.

Anyway, think I need to start relaxing, I've been raging too much on the forum past two days...odd week I guess :P

Lack of sleep contributes a lot to sleeping paralysis.
There's no cure for it I think. The best treatment is to understand the case and it's symptoms and learn your way to control the fear associated with it.
I've been dealing with it since the age of 12. Only in past 8 months I talked to my doctor about it thinking it was a rare case.I was surprised to know that it's very common and many people don't talk about it fear of been looked at as crazy.
It's very weird condition. Your mind is awake but your body is still a sleep(Paralyzed). You are aware of your surroundings even calling on people to help you wake your body. In your mind your thinking that you are screaming so loud but in reality no one can hear you.
Not to scare you but watch this video and pray for her and feel very lucky that your condition and mine are not as bad

I wish you all a healthy life :mates:

Thank you man and I wish you a healthy life as well. And yes, after watching that video I feel like my situation is not so bad after all and I pray and hope that I will never have that kind of intense experience in my life. And hopefully, that lady is recovering and is alright now...

I think one of the most important things in proper daily functioning is to make a routine of going to bed at the same time and waking up at the same time. Also make sure you are getting the proper nutrition you need and try to get a little exercise a few times a week. Our bodies need a good foundation to function properly and routine in sleep, diet and exercise can help you achieve this. Also meditation has been shown to help in many ways too. If you find this doesn't help maybe you should see a professional about it and see if there aren't any medications or techniques that may further aid you. Feel better.

Yeah there is a chemical (I forget the name) that your brain produces to make you feel like your dreams are reality while you're having them. Sometimes it takes a while for things to return back to normal when you wake up.

Thanks man, yeah I think the reason why it occured is because I just recently readjusted my sleeping schedual. This week has been super hectic and I spent the nights through this week and last sleepless due to intense work and all. I just got it back in order again so I can get back with my usual routine and slept pretty early, that's prolly why it happened cuz my REM cycle had to readjust and I didn't have the Melatonin required at the time to end the REM cycle lawl. Funny how it works...

I feel sorry for touring artists as well, they must get sleep paralysis alot, unless you're a pop act and you literally have someone to help get you organised...

But yes thankfully I'm fine now and I'm pretty sure I'll be all good again, thanks for the comments :)

I used to have this happen to me a lot when I was a kid. I used to think it was aliens hovering over me, lol. It's pretty scary. The only way I could break out of it was to stop being scared and get angry and try to take a swing at the "aliens" haha. Now I'm in my 30's and paraplegic for real from a fall about 15 years ago. Paralyzed from the middle of my chest down. Every now & then, my arms will fall asleep when I'm in bed & I think it's happening again, lol.

I used to see a woman's eyes floating in the stars before it would happen to me sometimes. It seemed like she was looking around to try to lock eyes with me, but I would always avoid her as much as possible. weird.

Thanks @( . )( . ). I've had plenty of time to adjust to my disability & I don't even think about it much anymore. It is what it is.
